In what world would a GT game against Colorado ever sell as well as a game against Notre Dame? ND has a FAR larger fan base to the point their stadium seats like 30k more than CU. Also, even though the series is tilted heavily in favor of the Irish, Georgia Tech has still played ND 38 times while this will be only the 2nd time they've played the Buffs.

Tbh, Deion missed his window of being able to be a successful head football coach. He’s an old school guy and his prime would have been during the BCS era. None of the kids today care about the old school things and none of those things even make a difference to the kids.

Most program try to do all of those things they just dont have a camera following them around to document it. His up hill challenge is not being a great coach or being able to put together a roster that doesn't have his son and Travis Hunter on it.

His only chance of success was being able to comvince really good/great recruits and transfers to come to Colorado. For the most part that hasn't happened.

That’s another thing he missed the boat on… how you think he’d recruit would have worked better years ago. Now it takes NIL money and the Big XII doesn’t have it like the Big Ten and SEC

Deion is a smart businessman. He and Colorado got what they both wanted. Colorado got positive press to breathe life back into their program and Deion got to coach his sons and Travis at a D1 school. It’s a,ways been travel ball and Deion pulled it off. That he can’t really coach is far down the list of what Colorado or Deion wanted.
The GT/CU game is a perfect Thursday night prime time game to maximize eyeballs for both teams. It also gives GT an extra 2 days of rest before Tennessee. And you can’t just move games from stadium to stadium, GT has done it when it’s profitable for the ND’s and others over the years but when we do we are basically giving up a hime game for money which we had to do. There was a lot of debate about moving the Tennessee game to MBS to make more money (I thought we should have) but now that we are actually a solid team I also see the side that says we should give ourselves the best chance to win which would be worth a lot of good press and ranking. Now, we just need Tennessee to cooperate, although I’m sure they have other plans.

That is a lot of money but I don't think Deion is literally dieing for it, if his health issues are really that bad...

Yeah, I think as each year goes by and the Colorado program gets worse it gets harder and harder to justify devoting time to stories on Deion and their team - the light has dimmed incrementally each year and will more this year.
The memory of him chiding his "doubters" after his first game will forever be his biggest moment - and he of course set himself up for roasting thereafter because he and his program never really did anything to top that - which even then, after the dust settled was a not as impressive a win as it appeared at the time.

And walk away from $44 million?
And I'd guess his Colorado contract has great health insurance. If he were to pay his own (even with 44 million) it would be pricey with his health history.
This way he gets attention, paid assistants and has even gotten accustomed to living a mile high with not as much oxygen and humidity.

The reason Colorado rewarded Sanders with a five-year, contract extension, raising his annual salary to $10 million wasn't due to his W/L record.
If Sanders would have left prior to 1/1/26 he would have owed them $10 million, will owe them $6 million he leaves prior to 1/1/27. CU owes him 75% of his contract if they terminate him early.
