They’re in for a rude awakening

They don’t get any easy passes except for Vandy

Playing bama/OM/state/ LSU in Consecutive weeks is gonna rock their shite

Yeah it's worked great for the flagship university of the state of Texas over the last 12 years

I don’t think the new scheduling format will be like that. They’ll play Texas, A&M Arkansas and mizzou then the rest rotate so they could have Kentucky and Carolina sprinkled in there.

OU falls to 5-5 today. Meanwhile UConn became bowl eligible with its 6th win of the season.

Outside of Georgia and Alabama, most people would say the Big12 is really fricking good this year and BETTER than the SEC.

Cowherd keeps pushing Kingsbury to replace Venables. No way they pull the plug this early but it'd be hilarious if they hired a poor man's Lincoln Riley after all the shite they talked about Riley being soft and overrated.

No. Consider this. Had Lincoln Riley just disappeared and not taken the best talent with him to USC, would we be by having this discussion, today? Probably not.

OU is doing well in recruiting. Riley created holes that they need to fill.

That said, when you compare what Venables has done vs. what Kelly has done, Brent Venables gets a D+ and Kelly gets an A+.

I’d selfishly like to see OU and/or Nebraska always be relevant. I think it’s good for the sport to have talented teams spread around the country.

Anyway, we hear how recruiting Texas will keep them solid. In the modern era, Texas is getting poached by schools like Ohio State and Alabama. Clemson has taken a top rated QB. I’m sure USC will have a presence in the near future.

Those schools are in the mix in addition to Arkansas, LSU, Okie State of bordering states.

The schools in Texas are all a factor. A&M and Texas are recruiting at a high level. Baylor and TCU aren’t going anywhere and will manage some big gets from local schools. Texas Tech’s new coach came from a Texas HS. You also have potential for higher level recruits at U of H and UTSA because of conference realignments.

None of this makes it easy for OU, especially if they stay down for more than a year or two.

They hire a good d coordinator as head coach but someone with no experience and is over his head.

Their previous 2 hires were coordinators with nonHC experience. Unlike Nebraska they border a talent rich state

Yeah I don’t see what can stop it. They’ll have 5-6 teams better than them in their conference and then after several years recruits are going to stop looking that way once they’re no longer contenders.

It’s a wild realization to me, I was too young when Nebraska met their demise. Oklahoma is one of the few programs to best LSUs overall record this century. about to see their demise firsthand.
