OU didn't have a defense previously.
It's too early to predict an NU like fall.

Oklahoma was a National power for a couple of decades before the rise of Nebraska, and they’ve remained a national power for a couple of decades after the decline of Nebraska.
OU has done it much longer, through several different eras, and under multiple different coaches.
Their location and recruiting base is also much more advantageous than Nebraska.

I don’t see any reason to think they’ll fair better than Arkansas

They won’t.

The funniest part of all these blue bloods leaving their old conferences to chase relevancy in the few new mega conferences, is that it's watering down their dominance and status, and it's not necessary.
The expanded playoffs were gonna leave a seat at the table for the Big-12, PAC 10, ACC, etc..
Neb, Okla, Tex, USC, UCLA, etc..are just adding awkward travel, climate, and bruising schedule depth,etc..diluting themselves. Only so many of which need the added tv contract dough versus their newfound faded aura of a now much tougher league affiliation.
Nebraska to the Big-10 has been an utter failure.

Anyone who understands the sport and it’s history knows this isn’t true. Nebraska benefited in recruiting from playing Texas teams. As soon as those games went away, so did the appeal to go play at Nebraska.
Oklahoma is gaining more big games by the move the the SEC. If anything they are going to recruit even better. Just because they are having a bad season doesn’t mean they’re Nebraska.
The SEC equivalent to Nebraska is Tennessee.

This is true. Look at the old big 12 and add TCU in the mix you have a pretty decent league. Arguably 3rd after the Big10 on a regular basis maybe even 2nd best on a good year. Nebraska would have survived better in this conference.
OU
Texas
Nebraska
Oklahoma State
Missouri
A&M
Tech
TCU
Baylor
West Virginia
Iowa State
K State
Kansas
Colorado

They move to the SEC where they can’t beat up on the bad Big 12 anymore.
Outside of Georgia and Alabama, most people would say the Big12 is really fricking good this year and BETTER than the SEC.
I've heard Joel Klatt say it, Herbie, Cowherd.
Only Finebaum is honking that SEC train like the total whore of a shill he is for the SEC fanbase.

It will be funny in the future, that schools like Baylor and Utah, etc..will make more Playoff appearances than do Texas, A&M, Okla, Neb, even with smaller financial coffers and despite being in the NIL era, just by staying put, and quietly filling the void.
