Calloway just inked a deal for partial equity in Rahms team

After all the shite he and others talked about having no reputable sponsors

Rahm was able to get Callaway to endorse a team before Uihlein was able to get Titleist too? Poor Pete.

Brandel is on golf channel right now. Needless to say he is salty. I expected nothing less from that chode

BTW, haven't forgotten you went back several weeks to screenshot a post of mine about Rahm joining LIV and making a "gotcha" because he hadn't joined yet. Not so much of a gotcha anymore, is it?

Honestly, I think really only Tiger has “leverage”.
Honestly, every single one of those guys owes Tiger a big fricking thank you. Love him or hate him, he’s almost singularly responsible for the increases in purses and marketing of players over the last 30 years.

And Tiger owes a huge thank you to Arnie. As Trevino said, "If it wasn't for Arnie, we'd all still be selling shoes in the pro shop."

The pga tour will have one of its best yeses ever in ratings because tiger is going to play one event a month, and that event is going to crush it. It’s amazing the power he holds

I heard Rich Lerner in an interview a few hours ago. He was completely rattled and said it's armageddon. Chris Russo was trying to get him to settle down a bit and saying it's just another leverage piece to get the PGA to the table.

He will just play with one arm and the ratings will still soar

The PGA Tour is so deep in talented young golfers with more coming up from the korn Ferry every year, I'll still watch every week. As long as there are multiple players in contention and it comes down to the back 9, I don't care what the names are.
I get that people want to see "the stars" but LIV is unwatchable. Rahm made a business decision. Sucks for fans and sucks for what will be his historical place in the game, but he's getting paid. It's his life, his decision.

I think the PGA did a good job of driving its talent away

True, but Tiger’s impact is significantly more than what Mr. Palmer provided.

SI is reporting that the PIF proposed a $1 billion dollar “equalization pool” to give to players who rejected LIV offers.
This was *on top of* the $2 billion PIF investment in the PGA Tour, but apparently “nothing came of it.”
The lawsuits are going to erupt over this by the players. Some breached their fiduciary duty to the rank & file players.

This 100 percent.

Can somebody explain why? They show a lot more actual golf than PGA broadcasts. And they try to show most of the field, not a few guys near the top. And being able to watch an entire field round in 4-5 hours is nice.

In my opinions, the fun in tournament golf is in the drama and build up as leaders progress through the round. You become familiar with the holes and layouts which allows more understanding of what’s going on. Just seeing a bunch of shots isn’t really that great.
