People aren't traveling to America because they are scared to death to travel here.
Euro trash are pussies, you can include the Aussies in there also.

It’s in real danger of being a flop, but not because of anti-American sentiment or the alleged American disinterest in the event. The under-reported signal that this will be a flop is ticket prices.
There are actually plenty of people who would like to see a World Cup game, myself included… but I’m not going to pay $800 for a single nosebleed seat in Houston for Uzbekistan vs. Portugal.
This is no way to grow interest in soccer in the USA.

They probably read the poli board
Of course, that's it. The international football community is making USA travel decisions based on poli board content. Mystery solved.

Agree. Its a big problem.
Looked at some tickets for the Argentina match in KC becasue my buddies finance is from there and they were almost 3k a pop in the 300s at midfield at Arrowhead.
Thats insane.

You think that people are afraid to travel to Boston or LA from overseas because they are afraid of violence???
Jesus bro
I’ll bet you every dollar in your bank account that I can pin the first violent offense of the World Cup on a skin color that is not white

It's going to flop because FIFA got even more greedy than normal and is refusing to sell tickets for under $1,000 a seat. These stadiums are going to be half empty purely because of ticket prices.

why is there World Cup stuff all over New Orleans even though there aren't any games here?

I dont think that at all. Direct that at the OP.
WC in Brazil had a lot of issues and concerns with crime and lawlessness but was considered a success.
The Qatar WC had a huge looming cloud over it due to forced labor from SE Asia and working conditions, time of year due to heat and the usual terrorism concerns in that part of the world.

What by voting a different way? Is that what you are trying to imply?
ICE wouldn’t have its reputation if Kamala was president. The rest of the Western world would be way more willing to come here.
What’s also not being said is that there are way too many teams at this World Cup. Some crap teams are going to move on by being third place in weak groups

Yeah, I think the biggest issue isn't what foreigners are being told on TV but seeing how much these tickets cost. It's gotten a lot of bad publicity just on that alone.
The ticket prices have been the main issue for months, at least across Europe. FIFA is mostly to blame for that.
That said, the field has expanded by 16 nations, and people from around the globe want to see another World Cup on this continent. The Scottish and English alone will likely scrounge up the money to come in droves.

I know you (and many others) hate soccer and that’s perfectly fine as everyone is entitled to their opinions, but what makes it a mickey mouse sport compared to football, baseball, basketball, hockey, etc?
