Imagine having a performance so bad that it is less embarrassing to just pretend you’re a an alcoholic and disaster of a person

Rehab and therapy is cool among this new generation

I don't think Whitney was on drugs when she did the 91 Super Bowl. Wasn't that before she got with Bobby Brown?
She is the GOAT for national anthem performances and it's not close. I even went to X last night to post a link to her rendition to remind people that our anthem is really quite good.

When I saw the Daisy Dukes shorts, I knew something special was about to happen.

I have seen info that stated Whitney was the one that got Bobby on crack not the other way around.

who pays for rehab. I'm sure that's ridiculously expensive

Whitney was DEFINITELY on drugs for this and she nailed it

I don't think this makes her look better.

She didn’t sound drunk in my opinion. She just sounded like she tried to add her spin on the national
Anthem and flopped.
But if she really has a drinking problem, good for her for getting help.

Anyone who says rehab sounds fun is not taking it very serious at all.

I took it as sarcasm from someone who realizes that she's in for a tough time overcoming her problem.

She’s a lightweight. Layne Staley had enough heroin in his system to kill 10 men at any given moment and sounded better live than he did on the albums

NEXSTAR) – Whitney Houston was an inarguably great singer. Her performance of the national anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl was also inarguably great. It’s often cited as the best-ever rendition of the song, not just for her vocals but for the emotion it carried during the Gulf War.
It was also lip synced, said her producer.
Rickey Minor, who has produced multiple Super Bowl performances (including Houston’s), told TODAY Houston was singing live on the field. But the version heard at home on the TV broadcast was a pre-recording.
“I never shy away from someone questioning anything that was done, or how it was done,” he said in the interview with TODAY. “Could I have said that it was live-live? Yes, but then when do you stop trying to gloss something over? It is what it is. And there’s no doubt that Whitney sang it. So my answer to that, my response to that immediately was, ‘Yes, she sang live. But we used the track for the audio.'”
He went on to say the recording used was mostly from Houston’s first take in the studio, “which is really unusual.”

Layne also had a great musician cover for him when he nodded off, though.

Yeah Layne gets so much credit for AiC, people forget Jerry is/was just as big a part of it.

Yes. Her publicist should get a huge raise.
