I can't wait till they have to deal with Karr. Fun fact, I coached a kid last year who lived in Avondale. This kid is now attending Karr. Yay! Deal with it public schools.

Is that why higgins has gone from a powerhouse to 2-8?

They don't have to redo the districts but they can redo the classifications next year so decent 5-5 teams don't get screwed by happening to be 4a or 5a, while every select school and 1a school gets in if they want

Ridiculous. So in this pathetic excuse for a "playoff", in some divisions teams can be WAY below .500 or never even win a game and make it into the playoffs? How in gods name is that better than certain schoosl dealing with the fact that this isn't kindergarten and everyone doesn't get a trophy? Instead you are gonna have insane blowout games in the first few "rounds" of this shite show, exposing kids to injuries that never should have happened.

well to be fair this is an easy fix: just cut the playoffs in half

Maybe schools should get votes based on enrollment... Rummel gets 5 votes, Mc Main gets 3, and West St. John gets 1... What you're proposing is like ull and ulm canceling lsu and alabama's votes. I just don't like the idea of the small schools controlling the big, but I can understand why you wouldn't like the opposite

NO.. some of those.. schools created this problem with their clout..

I think Higgins just fired some of their coaches. A kid I know was saying he no longer has a coach, so I assume they got fired.

I also know a kid that lives in a neighborhood that is divided between Ehret and Higgins. I think its strange to divide a neighborhood. Anyway, he is playing for Ehret now, after going to an Eastbank school the last year and a half.

Maybe didn't create it, but certainly used that clout to ensure certain schools were kept far far away from them.

Brother Martin No state titles since early 70s
Shaw 25 years since last state title.
St. Aug No state titles since 1979

Mandeville, really? They are like the LA version of the Woodlands or SLC. It's their own fault for not being good enough to make the finals.

they created it..... trust me....they sold it as putting them in 2a and 1a would "weaken" their programs...

gee look what it did.... they got better..

BTW I would really like to see PBS, Uhigh or ND beat them.....they are a sprained ankle away from being very handicapped on offense...

What happened is, the big 4A and 5A schools voted ECA and JC out and made them play down.

So naturally the the small school are going to vote on a split because they're playing for second place every year, its not fair.

Dont blame this whole ordeal on small schools, this is all the doings of big publics. Votes by enrollment, you'll still get the same outcome.

One year they were decent? That's bold. I remember Winnfield being DECENT for a very long time. Just an observation.

I think having 9 state champions in a state the size of LA is the dumbest idea ever.

Case in point: How many John Curtis High School
football players actually pay their own tuition?
When Winnfield played JC in the championship
game in 2011, JC had about 90-100 kids dressed
for the game. Yes, some were freshmen but 100
football players in a school with less than 200
boys in grades 9 through 12?

So you're butthurt about losing JC and your Principal takes it out on the rest of the state.

Also, any Winnfield fan complaining about number of players is a gigantic hypocrite. Winnfield has more players than every school in 2A.

about 5 or 6 very politically connected 4a schools at the center of it too.... .. the big schools are MORE to blame than the small schools....

The numbers argument is a pretty shaky leg to stand on here. Winnfield dresses an amazingly large squad for 2A
