You don't think that would make a more competitive system than what we've got now? I was just throwing some teams out there who have had moderate to a lot of success. I'm sure there are some I'm leaving out but a class that any of the major players can play in, whether private or public, would solve all of this bitching IMO

some of the ones you listed are the very ones that created this problem.......in fact many of them....

and that was talked about it.. and even the heavy hitters balked... big time....

Yeah, they should have come to our game at Glen Oaks. If they had 20% as many fans there as we did, I'd be shocked. The non-football schools got conned, and never should have been allowed to vote on the measure in the first place, as they had no skin in the game.

one year in 90s shaw played OPW(OPW was very good)... shaw side packed.. OPW side had about 30 people(game was first LA hs game on national tv...)...

shaw ad sent OPW a check for about 25 bucks the next week.. don't think they played in regular season by choice again until they got put in same district...

An easy solution would be get rid of 5A, give non-select 4 (or maybe even 3) classifications, and have 2 or maybe 3 select classifications.

You'd have 5-7 championships instead of 9 and maybe 1-2 more than the original 5. Because I'm tired of this stupid "everybody gets a trophy" talking point. That's not what this is about. Stop superimposing your anti-liberal agenda on this.

As many people have pointed out, this is as much about a butthurt private 5A faction as it is about a butthurt North Louisiana faction that can NEVER win a state championship under the old system.

It wasn't just the private schools that were punished, it was everyone. Go back to the old old way. Free play up. If you win 2 out of 3, you're forced to move up.

Enforce the rules or completely deregulate the league. I don't care. There are many, many public schools that manipulate the system, and there are many that don't. Same for the privates. Don't blow the whole thing up because you can't win under the current rules.

Yeah I have family that has recently worked at Shaw, plus friend that coach there and I often inquire about certain situations. It's a circus in the catholic league haha.

It's just sad when this whole thing isnt about the kids being upset. I am willing to bet none of the actual players are the ones complaining about schools/districts/recuiting. It is all the parents, school admins, and others who can handle watching their kids fail.

I remember Winnfield being DECENT for a very long time.

Well, according to some in this thread, that is mark of a football factory and is only possible by cheating.

John Curtis wins often = cheaters

Winnfield wins often = small town school with good work ethic and a fundamentally sound football team

Which is crazy since we know as soon as you become an adult you always get whatever you want no matter if you work your butt off or don't work at all.
