Horses can only race in the Triple Crown when they are three years old.

They would have to do other races in the other four years. I believe the Santa Anita Derby has a very high payout.

Still, a terrible choice. What the frick are you going to do with all that money if you are a horse?

ETA: the glue and BBQ part was good.

5 years wouldn't be horrific but tennis is actually BRUTAL on knees, hips, ankles if played for a long time.

Tiger was more than just a GOAT. He transcended the game. A player could come along today, duplicate tiger's best 5 years and not make near as much money. Also, I'm not considering golf simply because I just don't care for it.

Track Star. If you decided to start as GOAT in 2016.

Become fastest man in the world.

Win the 100

Possibly the 200

A few relays

Maybe a long jump, triple jump, and high jump.

Repeat in 2020.

Retire.

The money from the endorsements could be very very substantial.

Just trying to think out of the box

Boxing or baseball would pay the most.

Well if you play 25 tournies, say you average making 400,000 per tourney (way more in some, less in some)
That's $10,000,000 on golf alone.
And that's being conservative, you only have 5 years, so play every tourney

Baseball doesn't make more than golf or boxing.

The key to golf is being able to get huge endorsements. Tiger was only making the kind of money he was because of the enormous deals he had. Other than that he made about 10m a year from playing and another 10m if he won the fedex cup.

MLB
if be a lefty that can throw 95 play CF and rake. Put that on YouTube and a NL team will pick you up. Spend a year dominating in A and AA for the Braves. Get called up in spring training or just after next year. Sign long deal and win a few rings. Retire between seasons to spend time with family.

Provide proof of my abilities to a FO, work out for them, get the job, get the start, whip arse, after five years say something along the lines of "It's been fun, but I don't think I'm spending enough time with my family." and then retire after the greatest five year stretch ever.

Golf.

Win a sectional, qualify for the US Open, win the open, five year exemption and invitations to all majors.

There is no more accessible sport to the main stage.

Playing about half of the tournaments he was eligible to play. So assuming you're going to play every tournament you're eligible for, and you're going to make more than Tiger was because now you are the GOAT and better than Tiger ever was, that's about 25 million a year just from playing.

And then come your endorsements on a bigger level than Tiger...

ETA: and this:

You will likely win your first PGA event in the first month after waking up with GOAT abilities

A random nobody winning a qualifier then us open would be a massive media darling, also then going on to win a bunch more tourneys and majors, being ranked #1. You would be a fricking legend unlike anything ever seen
