The end result wasn't that great but it was incredibly impressive nonetheless. The Cavs were probably the best team in the league despite only being a three seed and Pippen and Grant hadn't quite broken out yet.
Jordan pretty much soloed a far superior team dropping 40 a game and the series winner. To me it's as impressive a feat as any of his titles. It was kind of his LeBron vs Pistons in '07 moment.

I didn't mean to sound like I was taking it away from him. Just that I wish series and even single games could be appreciated when necessary...like they are for MJ.
Many Lebron fans come back with, "yeah well he lost" when someone brings up Jordan's 63 point game.
I'm almost 100% sure they do it to try to combat other fans shitting on Lebron for losses he has even though he's unreal in almost all of them.
Is what it is I guess.

Lebron fanboys are full of shite their logic is stats > winning. Titles are a team thing and Lebrons numbers supercede any losing his teams do, the only problem with that argument is if GOAT status is a numbers only argument Wilt Chaimberlin is by far the greatest player of all time and Lebrons numbers don't come close. But if you go through every thread and every post I'll bet you find less than 5 from Lebrons stat boy fans that mention Wilt in their possible GOAT candidates. So they're arguments are total bullshite and 100% biased.

My logic is that contributing to winning > winning. There are way too many other factors involved in the results. More often than not stats give a decent picture of who has the strongest impact on his team winning.
In Wilt's case he had several years where his gaudy stats didn't translate to results as far as team success. This in spite of playing in a far less competitive era. Admittedly I don't know much about his teammates so it may be unfair to come to that conclusion but a guy putting up 50 points a game and his team still being average offensively should raise a red flag.
Comparatively LeBron + shooters is pretty much a lock for a top 5 offense and he's taken it to another level the past few years with the Cavs particularly in the playoffs where they've put up all time great numbers. Hell just in this series they're putting up a 113 ORtg against a 104 DRtg team which is just insane (116 with LeBron on court).
His defense has slipped a bit but in his prime he had as great an impact on that end as any perimeter defender ever.
All of this to say that I don't even have him #1 or #2 all time. But it has nothing to do with rings or "killer instinct" or whatever.

ESPN, NBA, and Nike made a lot of money pushing the MJ goat naritive because of Bird's bad back and Magic's HIV ended their runs prematurely. Most of MJ's legend has been hyped by forces benefiting monatarily off of his greatness.
I've been watching basketball since the mid 80's and though MJ is great he is not the goat. No one is. Magic, Bird, MJ, Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, And Lebron have all had runs of greatness. MJ had the best supporting of any of the above mentioned relative to his playing era. He also had the largest outside forces benefiting his ascension to goat status.

Great post. My sentiments exactly.
The reason these GOAT player discussions are beyond silly.

Wow, you were.
Think about this for a moment.
One guy played college ball, the other didn't. Hence the reason why lebron had more experience.
