Lubbock is overall safer, and cheaper to live in (while potentially being paid 4x more). Don’t be that biased.

No team is ever going to win the CFP who has not won a title before. It was hard before but impossible now. The traditional blue bloods and new blue bloods are protected and the Margin is wider now than ever.

Texas tech will be a CFP team but won’t win it all. Just another TCU Baylor etc.

Never say never. What if some Tech bro makes like $10 billion and then just starts throwing it all it is alma mater.

That's great, they will still continue to go 6-6 or 7-5 because they are Texas Tech. No one is concerned with them.

I think people are going to have to adjust their perceptions.

The SMU's and Texas Tech's of the world are about to get very relevant, very fast.

The world has changed

That money well will dry up quick. If you don't have the right coach the money won't matter.

Baton Rouge sucks enough for this to be a legitimate decision.

The food scene in Lubbock kind of sucks, though. It’s basically Midland in that aspect, with just the added college bars.

A majority of these kids have real deal sports agents. Tampering is part of that game. How else would you learn the market for your player? Someone has to ask the question. From there it's game on.

if the player (agent) reaches out first, I don't think it's tampering.

Lubbock may suck but it's never had chunk of it break off to form their own city b/c of how terrible it is like Red Stick.

Neither has Baton Rouge. But don't let facts get in your way.

As do I. What sucks is it looked like we had some sort of direction going forward , but that lasted about two weeks and now it's back to the wild fricking west.

Doesn't mean he won't get tired of paying for 4th place in the Big 12.

Solid tradition, fan base, great facilities, good coach and huge donor base. They will be knocking to win the big 12 this year.

Cody Campbell doesn't want to see his team left out in the final round of realignment Any hatred over this is pure butthurt that "lesser" teams are finally being able to comfortably offer NIL without being one of the "chosen schools" by the NCAA

There isn't arrogance about Tech's opportunity to be successful pretty much the entire fanbase is grateful + taking a wait and see approach, optimism is high but there is complete understanding that Tech football hasn't been the same since Leach was fired.

ETA: The hope is that Tech can do well enough (team success + NFL Prospects) that they can eventually ween themselves off of having to pay a premium for top recruits who would rather go somewhere like OSU or Georgia or Texas.
