Are…..are you asking why the National Championship game means so much in determining the national champion?
No im asking why resume should matter more than head to head for some situations and not others

Because humans are deciding and if you haven’t noticed they’re pretty retarded generally

Was LSU kept out of the national championship game? Resume is discussed when determining who gets in. LSU was in the game.

Many, like Michigan, don’t. Given the treatment they’ve received this year after what we’ve seen from them the last (pick your number) amount of years, why would anyone ever schedule a big OOC game?
A question I’ve asked for decade

don’t think Alabama should get in over Texas.
Good then this thread is not directed at you.

Its fun, and it’s a whole industry. Why wouldn’t they be playing college football games?

I seriously don't know. If we had played Syracuse or some other patsy rather than Texas, we'd be 12-0 and ranked #2 or #3 in the country right now, 3-0 in Top 25 wins, and a lock to play in the CFP with a win over Georgia.

Not in 2011 Bubba. Ok St had a better resume. That year it was “eye test” and quality of loss.

In the specific case of Alabama-Texas, head to head is the only thing that matters because the records are the same, or will be in this exercise. Don’t care about resume, in this specific case.

No team other than Alabama would have y’all vouching for a squad with the same record, easier schedule, worse wins, and a worse loss
Yall are ignoring 12 games in favor of 1

Alabama has the best win between the two.
And losing to a 6-6 team is a death sentence and it should be.
And an OT loss to what was thought of as a top 5 CFB team of all time should not automatically end a program’s hopes of being a top 2 team in that season.

That year it was “eye test” and quality of loss.

But in this case Texas is deserving over Alabama.

It’s not a simple hierarchy, it’s a combo of factors. Head to head is tie breaker when the records are the same and other factors are close. Despite what some Bama fans and Sec tards are saying the resumes with Texas and Bama are close, in all the reputable sources. 6 to 17 for example is not enough of a gap to disregard head to head

No one is disregarding head to head. You are the one disregarding the full resume.
