If resume should count more than head to head as some Bama fans are claiming, the surely LSU should have been the 2011 National Champs. LSU’s resume was inarguably way better. Using the final BCS rankings LSU had wins over #2, #5, #6, #16 and #25. Bama had wins over #1, #6 and #25. LSU also had 1 more win. So why should 1 game count more? Because it had a special name?

Head to head matters either accept LSU as 2011 Champs and quick fricking whining about Texas possibly getting in over Bama. Win a fricking home game or STFU!!!

Well, LSU had the better resume…and was 1-1 head to head vs Bama.

1. Resume HAS to matter more than head to head for the sport to even work.

2. Congrats on LSU being a great team and snatching one of 2 spots in the NC.

Sorry you got arse fricked in it.

Not when the discussion is between 2 teams with the same record and same accolades. Head to head > resume.

This is not a serious sport otherwise

Your QB isn’t good. He’s played against shitty SEC West Teams. Fight me

Resume 100% matters more than head to head.

The sport doesn’t work if resume isn’t 100% black and white more important than head to head.

More proof that the 1/9/12 melt will never end and never be topped.

Then why would anyone ever schedule a big OCC game? If Bama should get a playoff spot over Texas this year because “resume” (which btw is not nearly as great a difference as most of you think) what was the point of even playing that game? That would make a mockery of the sport

Let’s take it one step further, why play any games? Just name your playoff teams based on recruiting rankings.

Heavy sigh it’s not about that you morons, READ THE BOARD and other comments.

ETA: if Bama beats Georgia but gets left out of the playoff, that melt would be much much worse than 1/9/12
1/9/12 was 3 Mile Island that would be Chernobyl

Are…..are you asking why the National Championship game means so much in determining the national champion?

Many, like Michigan, don’t. Given the treatment they’ve received this year after what we’ve seen from them the last (pick your number) amount of years, why would anyone ever schedule a big OOC game?

I don’t think Alabama should get in over Texas.

Its fun, and it’s a whole industry. Why wouldn’t they be playing college football games?
