Yes, even bad publicity is publicly and people are talking about them 1000 times more than they were

This whole experience will enter into future discussions of the very tired phrase:
There is no bad publicity.

Which side of that discussion (Pro or Con) will take about five more years to decide.

The last time CO got this much interest was when the then coach's daughter got knocked up by one of his players. That's mostly forgotten by now.

I've never seen a college team get so much ink for winning 5 games over a two year period. Just goes to show you Neon is about Neon and not the Buffs. Just another reason I've never been a fan of Sanders.

the bigger concern long term is burning bridges with boosters in the post Deion era

So worse off than the Pre-Prime episode? My point exactly

Essentially being a FCS team after Prime pulls up his tent poles.

I can’t say he’s left it worse than he found it.

Boosters see how little spine that the AD has with allowing Prime to run his circus, donations stop until he is fired.

CU hasnt historically supported athletics very well.

It will not take much to put them over the edge.

Of course they would. He's brought in big bucks to the school.

Probably. At least people care about Colorado football now.

There was interest for about 4 weeks.

Deion will leave CU worse than when he arrived, and they'll suffer greatly for it.

They have had one winning record in the last 20 years and that was a fluke. I figure with a track record like that, Deion has more than 2 years to show that he can do better than 4 wins.

So, I figure the administration is happy with the new revenue, the publicity and with the hope he can pull something off.

Now, if HE WANTS to stay is the question.

I mean they were winless before all this

That was 1 year.

Colorado won either 4 or 5 games from 2017-2021. Deion is basically no better than those coaches.

And I don't understand the "interest in Colorado is so high!". Nobody paid attention to Colorado after Oregon destroyed them last year, except to laugh at them. And their publicity is much lower this year in terms of the talking heads.

They are making way more money since he showed up. No one cared about them before and no one will care about them when they leave.

It will have zero long lasting effects on their program and they will have gained money\fame\publicity because of it.

From a strictly business standpoint, this has been a win for them.

Yes, for the same reason they did it then.

Attention.

They had been complete arse for over 15 years before he arrived. Can’t destroy something that is already dookie.

Imagine being a lifelong Colorado fan though. Your team is no better, and you have a bunch of “new fans” that basically don’t ultimately give a frick about your program that will essentially tell you “sit down and shut up this shite is ours now”

I’d fricking hate it lol

They still are, and people are only watching for the train wreck.

Colorado football has improved by every single business metric. The school is seeing record applicants. Boosters and alumni are engaged again.

But muh Deion is a douche.

Y’all really are ignorant lol

I never associated Colorado with “trashy” until Sanders.
