It seemed to begin with us beating Georgia in Tiger Stadium early in the season. He was dick riding Georgia hard that year. After that, it seemed like he picked against every week and couldn’t stop himself from thinking everything we did was a fluke.
Before the SEC championship rematch against Georgia, he was sure Georgia was going to whip our arse and get rid of any controversy at the end of the season about who should play for the title between the top 3 teams of LSU, USC and OU. Then we ended up trucking Georgia even worse than earlier in the year.
He still wouldn’t admit we were a good team and deserved a shot at the title.

You are confusing him with someone else (Trev Alberts?). Holtz was the head coach of South Carolina until 2004 and he was usually not high on UGA in the media.
