Seems to be the same crowd that thinks Notre dame is a top 5 program and that beating Stanford is an accomplishment.
Is it nostalgia?
Or, maybe the people that watch do it to support the young cadets and midshipmen that are playing the game. It's not always a great game. But it is always a great game.

agreed, only so far as they are not very good compared to the top 25 teams, but the games are often very good and competative, even for low scoring games
i always wondered why there isnt a marines FB team, they treat it like its a completely separate branch of service. you know those commercials touting army, navy, air force, marines

Because it’s somewhat pure amateurism and there isn’t a ton of that left. It’s cool to see both sides in the stadium amped about a game for the next 3 hours or so. The experience and the rivalry are enough in the present.

Marines are part of the Navy. Marine Corps officer candidates attend Annapolis.

Point of his post went way over your head. You are right but his point was the op said it’s not good football because it doesn’t have national title implications and doesn’t have the best players. His point was the nfl has way better players and is played at a much higher level than cfb, so why watch if that’s how you feel.
He is right. 99% of the games in cfb are not played with the best players or played with playoff implications on the line. Yet cfb is the best sport because of games like army/navy

ya i get that part, but it would allow an air force vs marines game to pair with the army navy game
i think that would be great, since as it stands, air force is left on the out without an armed service game. hell you could have a mini armed services playoff between those 4 teams
