Really he’s an outlier period. Anyone that succeeds at his level is by definition pretty much But unlike other TTU QBs, who mostly were 6-7th picks or UDFA, Mahomes had the physical tools especially his arm.

Not to mention, the benefit of playing for the best play caller in the league, Andy Reid

All of those QBs come from schools who have not had QBs that were high draft prospects out of college like the ones from OSU.

How is that relevant

Besides tOSU had 2 first round picks, Haskins and Fields who’s only in year 2.
That’s 2 guys that were legit NFL prospects

Oregon had 3 since 1999 A Smith Marriota and Herbert.

The point about the Bama QBs is that it’s been since the 70s that a Bama QB did anything until literally last year

Neither of which are very good, but I’ll let y’all hold on to Fields until after next season

Young is gonna get broken in half in the NFL. He is too slight, not unlike Tua.

Ohio State was blowing the shite out of UGA, then Ryan Day happened.

Is K-State one of the best teams of all-time too? They beat TCU. Even Sonny Dykes said about his team, there were probably some games we shouldn't have won. UGA got Boise State in the Championship game.

Don't let last impressions fool you.

This wasn't 1995 Nebraska destroying Florida.

You guys that just want to talk shite about Ohio St are missing the point. Whether Justin Fields is a bust or not has no bearing on whether CJ Stroud will succeed or not. That is up to Stroud and whoever drafts him.

4 of the guys you listed were definitely not top NFL prospects. Smith was way back in 1999 and Harrington is from 2002.

We can argue in circles for days but the point is OSU has had plenty QBs who looked like superstars in college but end up being below average QBs in the NFL. Florida is in the same boat so don’t feel bad.

And the counter point is a) that’s irrelevant what one individual does in the pros has no bearing on others from his school and b) Ohio St has not had “plenty of QBs” that were considered high level draft prospects. Only 2 were first rounders, one of which was drafted in 2021

OSU QBs are system QBs. The proof is with Fields and Haskins. Fields was supposed to be better than Haskins as a passer. Stroud is supposed to be better than both. We will revisit this in 2 years. Always moving of the goal posts with OSU.

hings like, how quickly they process information, did they read the defense correctly at the line, did they call the proper blocking assignment, did they make they right read for the throw, how quickly do they get through a progression, what's their accuracy like on off-platform throws, etc. I get this from an ex high school teammate who was a Steelers scout and was a GM for the Bills (not a good GM, but still). Evaluations have very, very little to do with any statistical performance.

If they go by this, then why are they even looking at Richardson? Or half the other QBs? Of course, the fact they are could explain why NFL QBs overall look like trash compared to a decade or 2 ago.

No one is moving anything for anyone you are just being guided by your hate for Ohio St and an either or mentality. I am not saying Stroud will be good in the NFL, I have no idea how he’ll turn out, I just don’t judge him by where he went to school

The broader point is this is irrelevant

Dixon - Fifth Round
Clemens - 2nd Round
Smith - 3rd Overall
Harrington - 3rd Overall
Thomas - Never played NFL
Masoli - UDFA

So 2 weren't prospects, 4 certainly were

Osu quarterbacks have nfl caliber wide receivers playing big 10 schools that don’t have the speed to keep up. Receivers are wide open.

The college knock on QB prospects is the dumbest shite ever and completely irrelevant.

How many studs has Texas Tech produced before Mahomes?

How many studs did Wyoming produce before JA?

How many studs did Oregon produce before Herbert?

Do I need to keep going…

Dude can make all the throws, sees the field well, and showed his mettle by nearly willing OSU to a victory against UGA (one of, if not the best, CFB teams of all time) last weekend.

I remember when Heisman runner-up Jalen Hurts willed his OU team into a near victory against LS—err oh wait nevermind, LSU won by like fiddy.

All these guys played in the same system? Please tell me more
