Honestly, Fields performance so far, coming from the same system, is probably hurting Stroud in the draft.

This makes no sense when you consider this….

How other players from the same system fair in the NFL is not something the scouts consider, see Mahomes, Patrick

The evaluation of Stroud is going to change after the Georgia game. He had never really shown that kind of ability to throw accurately on the run before.

One game won't change a thing, the NFL analysts will tear down every single play that he's made in college over and over before the GM will greenlight committing millions to him. They spend hours drilling him live as well. A great game against Georgia will be a drop in the bucket.

Did you not see what Bryce Young did last year to the UGA defense that had 5 1st rd picks + all of the same guys from this year's UGA defense.

He did it with Bob as an offensive coordinator, one of the worst Bama offensive lines in decades, while being surrounded by the least amount of skill talent since Bama 2011.

True, that last part was me riffing and showing the flaw of the casual fan.

Mahomes is really an outlier from the Air Raid offenses isn't he?

Miami should pick up Young and drop Tua. Young would lit it up with Waddle and Tyreek.

Really he’s an outlier period. Anyone that succeeds at his level is by definition pretty much But unlike other TTU QBs, who mostly were 6-7th picks or UDFA, Mahomes had the physical tools especially his arm.

Arm strength is another thing casual fans misunderstand, it’s not just about throwing it 80 yards, it’s really about getting it into the flat quick so it’s not picked and returned the other way

This is the truth, they don't care about bombs, relatively speaking, anyone playing in the NFL can throw a decent long ball, but there are damn few who can throw a pinpoint rope on a 15 yard out pattern, especially from the far hash. If you can't drill that one, at that level, it's an almost guaranteed pick-six.

Its a system. That's why a 3rd stringer beat bama. And he ended up a bust like all the other ones.
Krenzell
Zwick
T Smith
Boeckman
Pryor
B Miller
Jt Barrett
Haskins
Fields

That's a lot of qbs that did nothing after their college days. It's all a system

The hashes are much closer in the NFL mitigating this issue a bit, but your point still stands.

JT Barret, Dwayne Haskins, and Justin Fields all looked great while playing in an Ohio State uniform. Neither one translated into good NFL qbs.

I think this is what's hurting Stroud's projections.

Don't know what the laughing emoji is for. It's a fact that all the qbs in the past 20 years have done nothing in the nfl. That's alot of bcs and playoff qbs that looked great in a osu system

Young reminds me of Tua. Safe pick.

I love Stroud though. Some of his off platform stuff is great. He reminds me of Mahomes at times and that is hard to say about anyone.

Well, for one you put Braxton Miller in there who had a serious shoulder injury while at Ohio State and not only did he not finish his career at Ohio State as a quarterback but he also never tried to play quarterback in the NFL. There are others on your "list" that could be picked apart but Miller is the most obvious.

Your obsession with Ohio State is disturbing.

Because all this irrelevant to CJ Stroud

Of those QBs only Haskins and Fields were first round picks, so counting guys that were never considered NFL prospects is stupid. Fields is only in year 2.

You said Alabama QBs have looked good. Whos the last Bama QB that looked good in the NFL prior to 2021, Ken Stabler?
Oregon QBs Akili Smith Joey Harrington Dennis Dixon and Marcus Mariota were all busts, guess that explains why Justin Herbert has been so bad

That moron thinks because they wear an Ohio State jersey they are all in the same system

If Trevor Lawrence went to Ohio State and had the same stats, wins, and success in the CFP, he wouldn’t have been a generational talent because of his jersey

Among other reasons (including Zwick ), this was why I included the emotional.

Of the two guys that actually had a chance to start in the NFL, one is in year 2, and the other is dead after playing in only 16 games.
