Your main point is absolutely correct
Sports on TV right now absolutely suck
Way too many commercials and zero game flow

Some of these games they just couldn't score any points. That's hard basketball to watch.

My question is-----Why would you watch sports on TV that you have no interest in in the first place?
Seems like a total waste of time.
That would be like me saying I've got a bass boat, but I hate being on the water and fishing.

The OP is just a chronic complainer and seeks attention.

The whole thing is a house of cards.

That’s precisely my point

I’m talking about the fact that in the 8-10 minutes I watched, I got 90 seconds of game time.

I like basketball. I have no rooting interest in either Tennessee or Houston. Seemed pretty simple, but I forgot where I posted. Mingo regrets the error and will walk you through it like a 5 year old next time

I have started watching more soccer and F1, partially because of that, there are no commercials while the game/race is going on..

People who are worried about efficiency in time (like myself) "record" the games and watch them starting with a delay, so you can FF through all the commercials and half time. During tournament play I start at least 45 mins late and I catch up right about the end of the game. Last night I caught up with the Duke game with under a minute to play, and today I caught up with the Houston game about 2 minutes after it ended.
With sports to me, you lose an element of it not watching live. Even worse, great moments can be ruined from your phone blowing up about it…bad enough when I’m even slightly behind on a YouTube tv stream

The quality of play is really bad with so many roster changes / lack of continuity along with draft eligibility rules. Just not the same as it was. It is really hard to watch, agreed.

Do most people sit and watch sports they don't care about or something?
I don't care about women's basketball, so I don't watch it.

The commercials suck too.
Back in the good ol' days we at least got to watch hot twins chewing Doublemint Gum or old sports stars drinking beer and talking sh*t in a bar.
Now it's a never-ending barrage of auto insurance, sketchy drugs and woke nonsense. How many people with full blown AIDS are watching a damn football game? Why is USAA spending hundreds of millions of dollars to have Gronk tell 90% of the population they aren't eligible for their product? What the ever loving f--k is that Pedro Pascal dancing in a fever dream singing "you're beautiful, now work it" crap?
I swear corporate marketing in this country has gone insane.

I don’t watch much college basketball in the regular season, everyone “cares” about the tournament. Again, Mingo regrets the error for assuming people could think on this board

States this...
But is shocked when people don't care about your opinion of college basketball

I gave no opinion of college basketball. I gave an opinion on the tv product.

Agree. I can't sit through games anymore, including football.
I've tuned into some of these basketball games at the end when I noticed a close game, which three haven't been many but other than that haven't watched much.
Even most OU games, I'll start watching after like an hour so I can skip through the commercials. Which blows because I can't talk about the game with friends during the game. But still better than the alternative.
Spoiled by nfl redzone. Going to be interesting to see what their new format is like.

Flipped on the Houston v Tenn game a few minutes ago. Game was in a commercial when I turned it on, ok cool. 3 minutes of commercials, game came back on for 90 seconds, 3 more minutes of commercials. And this is just the first half, I already know the last 2 minutes will take a half hour if it’s close, no thanks

Let me introduce you to Premier League soccer

You should check out Rugby.
80 minute game with broadcast that are two hours with only commercial breaks before the game and at half time and in the MLR at the 20 minute mark each half but there the commercial break is only like a minute long.

I've only watched MLB.TV for a few days so far, but I have had enough of the Chuck GBT (Charles Barkley for some betting site) commercial for a lifetime.
