I used to sit with my paw paw and watch those UGA games before I could walk.

I know lots of people who live in Georgia who are Bama fans, can't say the same about Georgia, we have been doing this for 100 years.

Living in Perdido Key, it's always fun to watch the t-shirts change based on who is currently winning.

You have to understand the south and be a CFB hound dog like me to have read things from 100 years ago as a kid in the 60s and 70s. I once got out of trouble as a 14 year old we set something on fire, or my stupid friend did) because the judge, a Bama grad, could not believe I knew all the records and scores from the 20s and 30s. Anyway....

In the 20s most of the nation belittled southern football, I think Georgia Tech got the first invite to the Rose bowl and got beat. Bama then got a reluctant invite in 2025 but the media were like it will be an easy win for Washington. Bama fell behind 12-0 but won 20-19, and back then you rode the train home, like you went, and all along the route, at each stop in Texas, Louisiana and Miss. people greeted the National Champions with pride. So, there have been generations of fans in the south who are Bama fans, who live in Louisiana, Miss. Tenn. Georgia and Florida, whose parents were Bama fans.

No one from these states, unless they moved there, are Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, or Florida fans. Its just different in the south as per the fandoms certain teams have, yes other teams have more fans, because we have two teams in Bama and other states are much bigger, but we have fans in other states who were never fans of their own home state. The idiot guy who burned those trees was born and raised in Florida, the whole northern pan handle is like 65 percent Bama fans.

Just giving my observation. It's all a big coincidence that the number of t-shirts I see in the area aligns to the most recent SEC champ.

You know it will happen.

Bama has had a decade and a half to accumulate a lot of sidewalk fans.

I will say the ones that didnt live through Dubose and Shula can be a bit obnoxious. Good riddance if they change.

I know you’re probably halfway joking, but I don’t see this happening

Facts. They’re scraping their crimson “A” off the back glass of their pickup trucks as we speak.
