You see the attitudes they have in HS and college. It’s all about the money.
I see this in CFB because teenagers have all the leverage. The NFL's pay structure generally (not always) saves the real $$$ of a second contract for those who've actually earned it.

In MNF last night, the RB for the Bills who fumbled in OT looked absolutely devastated on the sideline as the Rans drove down the field for the win. You could tell it meant something to him. When the Bills blocked the FG, that guy was so relieved.

When you get to that point, you might only have so many football games left, and every one could be the last…

Pretty much all of the NHL guys. Read up on some injuries reported after teams get knocked out of the playoffs.

Vitamin T is abused more but these guys than even the NFL folks. Basically, without toradol, im not sure half the guys on a playoff roster would make it to the finals let alone the second round.

As for NFL guys, ill submit Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, yeah, he is a little bitch with the getting touched and acting like he got shot and i truly cant stand the dude. But. he plays through all kinds of injuries. He's a gamer. Eli Manning was also tough. Not sure he ever missed a start before getting benched by his idiot coach thus costing him a shot at Favre's consecutive starts record.
