that’s b/c some of them are run by morons. There’s no reason Real Madrid should ever be in the negative. They have ridiculous salaries, $300m this past year, yet the Warriors paid almost $400m in salaries and they are still very profitable.

Both Real Madrid and the Warriors have near the same revenue, Madrid slightly higher, yet the Warriors are somehow a lot more profitable with less revenue and higher salaries paid.

Madrid is the most popular sporting team in the world, to not make more money there takes stupidity.

Don't fans have to buy a new "kit" every other year.

The EPL teams constantly have new deals with different sponsors.

All goes to the highest bidder.

They sell the old kits at a huge discount at the end of the season. If you want a kit just wait until the end of the season before the next kit is announced.

I just wish they would write the name of the team or city on the sideline or on the pitch so I could see where they are playing if I tune in in the middle of a match.

Do you have any clue of uniforms before the ad era?

Uniforms never had a bunch of crazy stuff on them like US sports franchises.

I think even US sports fans agree simple/sleek is better than loud and obnoxious.

I would think only the most obnoxious fan would give someone shite for wearing last year’s jersey to the game

As for the location, I’ve seen every city listed on LED around the center of the pitch. Munich, Stuttgart, Gelsenkirchen, etc

If NFL jerseys looked like NASCAR jackets and it stopped CBS from having a TV timeout every 4 minutes, then sign me up today

It's not. Many of them have a mountain of debt and are barely profitable. It's why Real Madrid President Florentino Perez along with a host of Premier League teams tried to get a Super League off the ground a few years back. Because none of those clubs make the profit that American sports franchises do.

Real Madrid debt was due to covid and spending $300 million on transfers alone for a couple of years.

They get $170 million a year just in tv rights.

They just can't avoid buying players.

At least mbappe came for free

I just want to see a freaking score and I would watch more. Also the whole concept of a tie game really bugs me. Why not do a shootout every game? At least the qf round they have a shootout

I feel like in stadium ads really aren't noticeable in American sports with the exception of like behind the plate in baseball
Here's a man that doesn't watch the NHL or the NBA.

The boards have ads that change pretty often.

And season ads under the ice.

Every NBA team had a Michelob Ultra logo covering half of the baseline.

Luka Jovic Eintracht Frankfurt E. Frankfurt €63.00m
Éder Militão FC Porto FC Porto €50.00m
Ferland Mendy Olympique Lyon Olympique Lyon €48.00m
Rodrygo Santos FC Santos €45.00m
Reinier CR Flamengo Flamengo €30.00m

No American sports outside of baseball have to fund any kind of significant talent development operations like the big in'tl soccer clubs either.

It's the reason the NFL loves CFB so much. They are the ones doing all the early scouting and development.

There's no a chance in hell and nfl team is going to set up some giant academy that costs millions to run in S America like the soccer clubs do. Major US sports, but specifically the NFL, are playing a rigged game. It's monopolistic practices at its finest

also the fact that in the US teams arent allowed to buy other teams' players with real money.

the cap on cash value for a trade is pretty low compared to if a team was allowed to pay another team $100 million for the rights to sign their quarterback

The Yankees would spend even more money if they didn't have to wait until players hit free agency to sign them, they wouldve gladly paid the Angels $100 million for the rights to sign Trout or Shohei

I go to the Braves games all the time and in my opinion, there is nothing better than a night at Truist Park in Atlanta. It’s entertaining.. it’s fun.. it’s a great park.. there’s just nothing better in sports (for me at least) than a night game watching the Braves
