He can design the perfect offense around Kyler Murray and agreed to not even look at the defensive side of the ball.

I think that was the entire reason.

How many good coaches did Les beat by 29+?

Spurrier did quit when Les beat his arse in 2015.

His issue at TTech was always not having the talent to put a competent defense on the field.

In that regard he may be a better fit in the NFL where being a really good offensive mind takes you a lot farther.

Dude his offense really wasn’t special

They were when he had NFL talent. It’s Texas Tech. Kinda hard to maintain the consistency of say Oklahoma when you’re getting recruits that wouldn’t crack Oklahoma’s bench. He did a great job coaching up poor talent.

Because he will have a great offense, doesn't have to worry about defense,

I agree his offense should be very successful in the NFL (a lot depends on if Murray is legit though). I disagree that he doesn’t have to worry about defense though. Offense and defense have a symbiotic relationship in football. Kingsburys fast paced, spread style of offense can result in quick 3 and outs and change of possession, putting the defense back on the field with little rest and bad field position.

His defense won’t be as bad as they were as Texas Tech and their lack of talent on that side of the football. But he’s going to need to have slower paced possessions every now and again to give his defense some rest. Itll def be interesting to see how he does in the nfl though. Murray should be fun to watch. Having him in the backfield with David Johnson is pretty scary.

Because NFL GM's are as bad as NFL owners at assessing talent.

If I'm Mike Leach, I'm buying a drum of Just for Men, losing 40 pounds, getting minor plastic surgery to make me look younger and dropping slang terms in my press conferences.

They knew they were drafting Kyler and they feel they'll succeed with KK coaching him and Kyler already knows the KK offense ect...it's a qb driven league now.

His results at Texas Tech were actually pretty good for the talent level there IMO. He focuses has what the NFL is looking for, passing, QB's, WR's, etc.

Mike Leach was a superior coach to Kingsbury by a long shot. The only thing Kingsbury was better in was the looks department but Leach is a fricking pirate so that trumps looks.
