a lot of people don’t know that and don’t do research. They just see River Ridge and think there’s something in the water
Or we see a kid that left a public school district with sun 30% high school graduation rate go and get a good education, and think the shitty fricking public school complaining they lost a kid should make their school not a dumpster fire

The split happened because of Evangel and John Curtis. Let’s just call a spade a spade. The 5A and 4A schools got tired of it and forced them into their proper divisions. Then the lower schools wanted the split.

The select schools would be in a death spiral if they only got students from places where you’d say the public schools were shitty… they have to get them from good systems too

Thanks for the information. I just know this topic has been debated over and over.

So according to the graphic, the private schools want to reunify overwhelming. I guess its the public that wants to stay apart.

Are you quoting me because you agree or because you want to run it in my face?

The only people I ever heard of recruiting SIGNIFICANTLY until about a decade ago were Evangel, John Curtis, and West Monroe.

I’m not saying others didn’t, I’m saying that’s all I heard about. Now, I know just about every private school does.

John Ehret wished the split happened because of them

Let’s call out the biggest clowns who have voted no for this:

What of % people who have this opinion are graduates of private schools? 98?

Also if you are over the age 18 and care about this maybe reevaluate

The only team in 2-5A that didn't vote for unification was WM. Jesus, even West Ouachita and Pineville did.

Apparent Northshore area teams want none son. Only Mandeville from that district voted for unification. One non-select school outside St. Paul.

Thibodaux the only school from river parish.

Meanwhile North Louisiana and Lafayette area are pro unification and baton Rouge area as well, if only slightly.

Why is the NOLA and surrounding areas so against the unification? Seems clear why.

I quoted because you're an idiot.

There is no school called "Evangeline" and John Ehret is a public school on the Jefferson Parish Westbank.

Maybe you should reevaluate clumping everyone into a ball.

I have family directly involved and many friends who coach and officiate.

But I should only care about a bunch of premaddonas making millions in the pros or a bunch of clowns in college bouncing around schools like a hot potato with millionaires forking over 130 million for a recruiting class?

Yep, phone turned Evangel to Evangeline and I was interchanging Curtis for Ehret. Second one is absolutely my bad.

To be fair, John EHRET has done their share of recruiting too

Attendance zones on the Westbank are pretty nebulous, and sometimes even cross parish lines apparently.

Im confused. If 39 people voted in 2020 why did it not happen then? Was that vote for all classes or no classes to reunify?

Because Votes before have always been put up to bring all classes together. so the entire Lhsaa votes but now This proposal is just on the 5a agenda so only 5a schools can vote.

The problem has always been that the majority of 3a and below schools support the split (even class b and c get to vote on football which is silly) So 5a and 4a who have always been slightly against the split always lose. So the many principles believe that this will pass as it was discussed at district meeting and then in 2024 you will see 4a do the same.

Anyone have the language of the proposals that went up vote in these instances? I don't believe any of them were worded the same. I'd like to think that SOME of the changes in voting of some schools was due to the actual proposals.

Some small school fans can’t really fathom that 5A fans really don’t give a frick what they do

In general, south LA metros want to integrate while north LA doesn’t.

South LA recognizes privates as a necessity. North LA insists only publics are fine because people are able to move out of Shreveport and Monroe to the burbs.

I think it's dumb for schools in the same school system to vote differently.

No reason for Byrd and Captain Shreve to have differing votes.

Or McKinley and Woodlawn.

The school board should force them to vote for what they think is best for the entire school district, and tax base at large.
