For the folks who want reunification, i am honestly curious.... What are your thoughts on IMG academy? Should they be playing in the florida high school playoffs? in a district?
IMG's National team does not play in a Florida district.

quote:

National Team
IMG Academy’s National Team takes on an incredibly competitive schedule against some of the nation’s most elite programs. Players will arrive in July to begin their pre-season training camp, compete in 10+ games in the Fall, train and develop during the Winter off-season, and continue to train in the Spring before the Spring Practice Game. This team is comprised of some of the nation’s top collegiate recruits as well as those with aspirations to compete in the NFL.

They do offer the opportunity for kids enrolled there to play in a district:
quote:

Varsity Team

This team competes against 10+ teams consisting of regional competition in a Class 3A Florida schedule while continuing to focus on player development and progression. Student-athletes will have an opportunity to train with IMG’s expert, sport-specific coaching staff and will have a similar training schedule to the National team. Varsity student-athletes have an opportunity to develop alongside other players of similar skill levels while working towards achieving their peak potential.

I would think, the kids on that varsity team, are the one's who's parents are paying full tuition.

They also know each school finds "ways" to help with tuition which is a violation of current LHSAA bylaws

Which LHSAA bylaw?

So basically the openly recruited kids can’t play Florida schools in the playoffs and don’t have a district. Seems fair.

Everybody’s all-American, there is your solution.

Except that we’re talking about Florida… pretty sure others are recruiting there too

I was meaning the IMG national team. They play other top teams around the country but can not knock anyone out of district or state title contention.

Because that is a similar advantage that privates have here. I hate the everyone gets a trophy/playoffs mentality, but there has to be some competitive balance.
I dont know the solution, but would like to hear some thoughts on that

First of all Img gets kids from all around the country
. And just so you know not all private schools recruit!
But for every private school you claim does there are just as many public schools that Do.

In the area i coach in its well know what LCA does and What acadiana does as well.

Nola is a free for all for public and private.

Public schools that are know to recruit as well and they are the same teams always in the superdome or semi-finals yearly so please stop acting like its just private schools.

You’re a fool if you believe all, or even most, public schools have only kids from their particular zone.

Unless they live in the public zone shared by that select school, they would not be immediately eligible as you say.

Louisiana Prep Scoreboard has put forth the possibility that class 1A could also reunite... interestingly, there are more select schools in that class now than nonselect
