His parents seem really hands-on. What evangelical options are there in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas? The only schools I can think of don't have football teams.

That was a scary family. I had no idea there are Christian geographers.

So then he would be eligible for Clinton next year? That's basically the rule for Tebow, and it only seems fair for the state to adopt that rule if others are doing it, too.

Hell I don't know but I'm sure it will be easier to find a school in the area which has similar beliefs and football team than raising money to attract better home school talent for his football team.

Nobody cares about fair least of all the government, but I get your point. I'd like to see this happen as well.

Depends on if he stays in Clinton or moves. He could go to Silliman a Mississippi Private School team but doubt he does. I seriously doubt if he goes public he will go to clinton. Seems like that family won't let him go to that school. Just a weird vibe by watching that show but I think they are worried about the atmosphere at Clinton. I see him most likely ending up at Central or Zachary or finding a private school and moving into that school district.

I don't think it's so much about finding a school with congruent religious beliefs. It seems that his parents have created this bubble around him and only they are allowed to decide what goes in and out of it. They aren't afraid of him going to a public school, so much as they are afraid of losing absolute control over every aspect of his life.

But with the law you mentioned, wouldn't he just go to Clinton for practices and games while getting homeschooled in stuff like Christian Geography at home?

That seems like the best accommodation for his family in terms of academics and football.

I agree, I would just send him to Clinton, they are already competitive in football and one of the top teams in 2A in recent years. Seems like the obvious choice to me.I just don't think they will let him go to Clinton unless while attending a combine this summer, coaches feel that it is the best choice. I do think attending a regular school will benefit him more.

Central would probably be a better fit. Brisco graduating and they are a 5A school.
I find it odd that they wouldn't allow him to go to school seeing that in another year or so he'll be off to college anyway.

Clinton High usually have great receivers but I don't think Stevie Douglas is good enough.

Let's see The school s good enough to represent football wise but not good enough to attend school there. Thats crazy. If you don't go to the school as a student how can you play football for them?

So he can play for Clinton but not go to school there. Thats makes no sense. Are his parents afraid he might meet some non believers there or worse people who believe diffferently. It the sschool isn't good enough for them then you can't represent them in football. Hypocrite

guess the Louisiana laws prevent a kid from playing for his local public school while being homeschooled. That's what Tim Tebow did.

actually the rules kinda allow it - leaving it up to the schools in their attendance zone.. most refues.

the whole thing could be a mess and I am curious to see what happens. This is supposed to be a discussion topic on the LHSAA Agenda for the Winter Meetings Jan 27-29.

wtf are you talking about Jeaux?

His parents are thinking about sending him to Central next year. Not continuing to home school him and let him play ball at Central.

The only people that mentioned playing for a school in his district while home schooling are in this thread.

Show some class Jeaux and lay off of what is a family decision.

Why doesn't his dad just spend that money he's raised to send him to a Catholic high school instead of trying to attract better home school talent?
Bears have a good returning QB?
