IMO that makes him better. As he fixes things and adapts to situations

I mean the man has won at every level and league he has been in.

There's no way anyone can say coach x is GOAT though.

But he doesn't maintain. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Brown did a lot of really difficult things, but he also failed in a ton of his stops. He was miserable at Charlotte and the Knicks, he wasn't impressive with the Clippers, and 2004 was embarrassing.

He's all over the place, which makes sense for a basketball vagabond.

Greatest in recent times, but greatest ever? I think not.

Why is 04 embarrassing? He had the C team. George Karl in Indy is embarrassing. That 04 team won a bronze.

It's either him or Wooden, and a case could be made for RMK.

5-3 in Olympic play, lost to Puerto Rico by 15. Had Iverson, Duncan, LeBron, Melo, and Amare. Chained the last 3 guys to the bench in favor of Jefferson, Odom, and Marion.

LeBron Carmello didn't belong on that team

Weber Shaq Kobe and others backed out at last minute.

But that's okay to take a JV team but when the Varsity finished 6th at home in Indy it's not embarrassing?

He's also 2/3* for violating NCAA rules.

Both of those performances were embarassing. 2002 moreso since it was on home soil.

Who would you put ahead of him besides Wooden?

I would have to say its Coach K and I give him the edge, over Wooden, because he has never had any recruiting violations sent his way. The same cannot be said for Wooden.

I am the biggest Zona fan there is and I cannot agree with earlier posts about Lute Olson. He had way too much talent, to only get one title.

Calhoun and Knight both need to be on any top 5 list

Calhoun was the best at spotting gems that everyone overlooked. He had so many studs that weren't top 10-20 recruits.

Coach K has rarely had a true under the radar star. The closest we come is Laettner as a top 25ish guy becoming a legend. Brand and Winslow exceed everyone's expectations as well but were blue-chippers all the way.
