When I was in college 100 years ago at murray, I went to a game a suite*-mate was pitching in.
There were more people at Little league games I was in. Parents. Went to a game while at Kentucky because guy from lake Charles I knew was playing that day.
The stands were identical to my little league stands.
Few attended.

I think they played just to keep Liverpool from scoring any goals

After Liverpool went up they definitely switched tactics to more of a defensive posture

But that didn't have anything to do with the away goals rule.

It's pretty basic soccer stuff. Understandable that you don't know it, but you also chose to comment in a soccer thread.

To be fair, this is the MSB, not the soccer board, and I wouldn't even call it a soccer thread.

they had lost in choking fashion in regulation, we probably wouldn't be supporting the small schools as much saying they can play with the big boys.
one game between two teams shouldn't have had much to do with it...

I responded multiple times and even admitted my ignorance.

People celebrate the result but nobody watches college baseball unless they're still a college student and into rah-rah and have nothing better to do and go see it in person.

But TV? Nope.

More people watch women's beach Volleyball on NBC than College World Series on MSNBC Ocho.

I didn’t need another reason to despise soccer.

don’t think what Liverpool did at all was a trick play

It was a bitch play. Sports is about competing, not acting.

Nah. This is no different to when a center snaps the ball early to get a free play in (American) football because he realizes a defender is in an offsides position.

Just a heads up play.

You offer up a different bitch play to add value to your bitch play? Very soccer of you.

BTW, the officials would eventually have thrown a penalty flag for the NFL player being offsides.

It isn't on you to ensure that your opponent is in perfect position and ready to play when the game is live.

Sports is about competing, not acting. This was clearly scripted. He didn’t just “realize the defenders were sleeping”.

Let’s be honest here.

Kind of like a hidden ball trick in baseball?

Barcelona stopped competing for a second, Liverpool did not.
