This was one of the top comments on the first Barca tweet after the match.

Did Alexander-Arnold say it was completely his decision yet? I wonder if there is any chance that it was something that was planned as a potential trick play to use or if a youngster like him really decides to unilaterally run that play while essentially waving off a super respected vet like Milner.

I didn't see the interview, but I think someone asked him about it after the game and he didn't mention it being something they worked on.

When he moved away to act like somebody else was going to do the kick, it confused a couple of the defenders. They were pointing out who was going to cover who. So when he quickly ran back to the ball they were frozen leaving an opening for the scorer to get open and kick it in.

One of those “I got him, no you got him, no nobody has him.”

Timing had to be near perfect all around.

As consequential for American sports fans as a Champion's League kick that no one gave a shite about....

I'm sure that disabled women's lacrosse has something of a similar caliber.

The Titan illegal forward pass on that kickoff put them in the Superbowl.

This is a pretty decent answer.

If Buffalo wins that game as they should have, Indianapolis likely doesn't get upset at home in the divisional round, and who knows what happens with Colts v. Jags in the AFC title game, and if either could have given the Rams a run in the Super Bowl.

I'm no huge soccer fan but some of y'all are really showing your arse in this thread. Downplay all you want but it was a huge play/moment. Love when ppl "don't care" about something so much they open threads about it to boldly declare how much they don't care.

trick" plays like that are a dime a dozen in the NFL.

Next.

Both the eagles and Patriots threw to the QB.

The better throw won the game.

Pretty cool.

I laugh at the douches bragging about not being into soccer.

I agree that Boise v okies was more consequential in the USA.

I loved the play today.

Opponent out of position, confuse them further, place the ball, finish.

Belichick is smiling for sure.

There is also a whole board for circle jerking soccer where you can be in a safe space away from the meanies who don't like it.
