It’s not his biological son though.
So no harm when he forgets him at school

I'm not sure what the consequences were because . . . soccer, but Boise State vs. Oklahoma statue of liberty play reshaped how mid-majors were viewed in major college football. May or may not be as consequential as this . . . but I don't soccer.

The hook and lateral was bigger. 4th down, 10 seconds to go.

It was a better play, but the Statue of Liberty won the game. The hook and lateral gave them that opportunity. I think viewing the plays in tandem, as is usually done, is the right way to appreciate them.

"trick" plays like that are a dime a dozen in the NFL.

Next.

It wasn’t a trick play, IMO. The ball had been spotted in the corner for several seconds. He was standing over the ball and noticed Barcelona was completely asleep so he made the pass.

He wasn't standing over the ball, he had started to walk away then ran back and took it quick.

It wouldn't say it was a "trick play" but it wasn't a standard corner. He just saw an opportunity and took it. Fair play. Still took a great pass and finish.

Skip Bertman's call to use a trick play in the college world series was huge.

quote:

On June 7, 1982, Miami was leading the Shockers 4-3 when it unveiled perhaps the most famous play in CWS history.

Phil Stephenson, a future big-leaguer and college hall of famer, was on first and was the most dangerous runner Wichita State had having set the collegiate record with 86 stolen bases (in 90 tries) that season.

Miami pitcher Mike Kasprzak faked a pickoff throw to first, with Steve Lusby diving and cursing as if the ball got past him on a wild throw and bounded into foul territory.

Miami’s players in the bullpen behind first played their parts to perfection, jumping out of the way of the phantom wild throw, completely — and understandably — fooling Stephenson.

In the Miami dugout (which was on the first base side), players and coaches yelled directions to where the ball was.

Stephenson, of course, took off toward second and was thinking about rounding and heading to third.

All the while, Kasprzak — the pitcher — had the ball in his glove.

As Stephenson raced to second, Kasprzak casually tossed the ball to shortstop Billy Wrona who slid over to cover the bag.

Miami went on the win the CWS

Video

From the article-
quote:

Skip Bertman, Fraser’s lead assistant who went on to a Hall of Fame career at LSU, worked on the ruse with Scott and made the call to use it in the CWS.

That's not exactly correct.

ETA. Are you just pointing out that he was walking away when he decided to hurry back and play it?

So there’s 2 games played, Liverpool went to Barcelona last week and got drug 3-0, came back this week and won 4-0 so they win the semi final 4-3. Had Barcelona scored one goal today they would have won a tie breaker by virtue of scoring an away goal and Liverpool not having one from last week

This would be like a hidden ball trick sending a team to the World Series.

Yeah I agree with you, edited. Wasn’t sure which aspect of the statement he thought was incorrect since he didn’t specify.

TAA was standing over the ball at the corner. He starter to walk away for Milner to come and take the kick. As he was walking away, he saw Origi alone in the middle and saw the defenders turn their back because they thought it would take another 10 seconds for Milner to get to the corner. TAA made a decision to quickly get back and played a perfect cross to Origi.

Plus by winning Liverpool just cashed a cool check for I’m guessing around 15 million dollars

It's pretty basic soccer stuff. Understandable that you don't know it, but you also chose to comment in a soccer thread.

I believe that’s the “at least”
It could be more if they win
