I have no clue why Burrow’s success has mind fricked this board so much
It’s extremely rare for a Qb to be 3rd in mvp voting his 2nd year. ESPECIALLY when he is coming off a late season shredded knee
Add to the fact is teammate is a rookie all pro, which is EXTREMElY rare as well
And the trifecta? THEY WERE COLLEGE TEAMMATES
It’s just something very unique and instead of appreciating it, this board wants to bury it like it’s not a big deal
Go look at national media, they can’t beleive it either. But this mindfricked board wants to make it only something LSU fans think is cool

You've got it reversed my friend. The surge of Burrow threads overwhelmingly came from LSU fans so of course there has been push back.
It was an apt comparison for how AU fans used to treat Cam Newton and the Panthers and how LSU fans used to react to that.

But should he be?

Brady
Kupp
Taylor

OP is exaggerated and outlandish, as others have pointed out.
But the Bengals have done very well in the last two drafts.
Chase and Burrow are the obvious home runs. Beyond them:
2020:
Higgins - home run in round 2
Logan Wilson - good pick in round 3. He’s a solid starting linebacker
Khalid Kareem has shown flashes at DE. That could end up being a good pick.
2021:
Evan McPherson - home run in round 5
Chris Evans in round 6 has shown flashes.
It’s still too early to tell on a lot of these guys. Ossai is a third rounder from 2021 who missed year due to injury.
Where they’ve missed, and this isn’t a surprise to anyone who has watched them, is OL. They’ve drafted 4 in the past 2 drafts, including a 2nd rounder in 2021, and none of them look like NFL starters. That could change, and they’re young, but as someone who has watched every Bengals game - I haven’t seen a lot of hope for these young guys.

One will finish 3rd in mvp voting in his second year
He won’t get any votes so does that mean I finished 3rd too?

Except two guys in the last 4 seasons have won MVP in their second season but please tell me how impressive it will be for Burrow and I to receive the same amount of MVP votes this year.

Whole lotta seriously delusional MFers live here.

Patriots drafted Hightower and Chandler Jones in the same draft, both of which have made key plays to win a SB.

This just read like one of those random baseball stats announcers throw out there.
There has never been a case where 2 college teammates were both drafted in the top 5 in consecutive years AND 1 was a second team All-Pro player in his rookie year AND 1 came off of a season ending injury AND they made the SB in their 1st & 2nd years respectively ANDANDAND
Not shitting on the uniqueness of the situation and excitement for LSU fans, just laughing at the qualifiers throw out there

Rodgers
Stafford
Brady
Kupp
Taylor
Burrow
1st in completion pct
1st in PFF
1st in yards per attempt
2nd in passer rating
3rd in yards per game
3rd in td%
Once again, the fact you question this shows how mindfricked this board is on burrow

I swear it’s like Louisiana doesn’t have an NFL team. These LSU fans seem to know absolutely nothing about football at the professional level.

Even funnier it was their first full seasons starting that they won MVP
Mahomes had started 1 or 2 games the year previous. Jackson started week 11 or so on.
I expect better from lsupride but since Drew Knees and him becoming a “bills fan” he’s been a bit dramatic on his football takes (Derrick Henry anyone?)

Burrow
5th in sack% (that's a negative)
1st in sacks taken (that's a negative)
9th worst INT% (that's a negative)
12th in QBR
All that with probably the second best receiving corps in the game
You know who else had a really high YPA and completion percentage? JimmyG

Burrow was one of the best QBs in the nfl this season. There is simply no argument otherwise
Burrow was better than Brady in passer rating, completion pct, YPA, and TD%
The honest truth is he should be second in mvp voting

Terrible take. You need an incredible athletic ceiling to have the rookie year that Chase is having. Chemistry alone does not provide these results in the NFL.
When I say chemistry I mean we already saw, during the Championship run, that Chase and Burrow had their timing down. Joe knows where to throw it to Chase before he even makes a cut. He knows where he's going to be on the field and vice versa. They've even shown plays from LSU and Cincinnati that are exactly the same between the two. The only thing that's different is the uniform.
Chase was a first round talent regardless band would have been having a very good season no matter where he went. He's having an All Star season because of the chemistry they have together. They are in tune with one another. I don't think Burrow has the season he is having without Chase.

I think some teams had more than one good year, but maybe not.
