No, never in the history of the NFL has a team picked two good players in back to back first rounds.

LSU fans come across as “new to football” fans the same way Auburn fans come across as “new to basketball” fans.

Not sure that's really nailing it with Chase. They already had chemistry together.

Dallas drafted Michael Irvin in 1988, Troy Aikman in 1989, and Emmitt Smith in 1990. They picked back to back to back hall of famers with 3 consecutive 1st round picks.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

Mean Joe Greene ‘69
Terry Bradshaw ‘70

Jack Ham ‘71 (2nd round)
Franco Harris ‘72

Then in 1974, the Steelers drafted 4 more Hall of Famers.

Terrible take. You need an incredible athletic ceiling to have the rookie year that Chase is having. Chemistry alone does not provide these results in the NFL.

In 1965, the Bears took Dick Butkus at #3 & Gale Sayers at #4.
