We Went to the same k-8 and catholic parish in Atlanta.
The family always sat front row at 11 o clock mass. Reallt well respected , put togetehr family.
Used to get him and his sister out of the car when they were in lower school and i was on middle school safety patrol

my wife wasn't too happy about his comments (a "conservativeish" christian lady, but a bit of a first wave feminist) at the time and then i reminded her that her parents paid for her degree and the second that we found out we were pregnant less than a year out of college for her, she started counting down the days till she could take maternity leave and be a stay at home mom. and then she did that for 12 years happily.
she knew that's what she wanted to do and did it. she was just mad a dude said it out loud to women.
it's like the childless cat lady comment. it's true and we all know it. you're just not supposed to say it.
