I used to work in the service industry when I was younger...if they treated me better and paid me better I might still be there. Turns out though it's not an extremely profitable job in most cases...kinda like playing a sport televised on public access TV or in front of High School capacity crowds in arenas that look like they are enforcing covid restrictions

Play a sport that no one watches as a profession then complain about not making enough.

And if she followed a foreign country's laws, she wouldn't be in a foreign prison

They play far fewer regular season games than the men ina league that loses money. How sad, they have to go play another season somewhere to end up playing closer to as many games as the men and make more money.

And here's the truth about Russia:

quote:

WHY RUSSIAN SALARIES ARE SO HIGH

Russian sports leagues have been able to pay top players these high salaries because some of the teams are funded by government municipalities while others are owned by oligarchs who care more about winning championships and trophies than being profitable. There are stories of Russian owners putting up players in luxury accommodations and taking them on shopping sprees and buying them expensive gifts in addition to paying their salaries.

In 2015, Taurasi’s team, UMMC Ekaterinburg — the same one Griner plays for — paid her to skip the WNBA season and rest.

We had to go to a communist country to get paid like capitalists, which is so backward to everything that was in the history books in sixth grade,” Taurasi said a few years ago.

The Russian league has a completely different financial structure from the WNBA, where there is a salary cap, players’ union and collective bargaining agreement.

Translation: These people are spoiled and stupid.

I read this and looked up what griner makes. She makes roughly $225,000 in the wnba. If she can’t make it on that, tough.

Griners Wife

Is this a new wife, or the wife she beat up at least once, then convinced her to have a baby through in vitro fertilization, then got into another “physical altercation” while the wife was pregnant, then left the wife, then wanted nothing to do with the wife and premature twins, then had to be chased down to by the courts to provide child support?

That league is literal welfare.

Those women playing in the WNBA have a legitimate subsidized payroll

About 200k more then her value actually is.

Maybe don't bring weed into Russia or take a little less money to play in turkey

Saw one of the WNBA players whining about their pay raises the other day because half the teams can only afford to have 11 players instead of 12 now

Maybe should have thought of that before demanding outrageous money to play a game no one cares about

Russia isn’t communist, it’s totalitarian.

Secondly, wouldn’t this prove that you’re not worth what you think as it takes communist market principles (ie failed economics) to pay you what you think you’re worth?

Is this a new wife

I can’t believe I just researched Griner’s love life but here we are. Per Wikipedia, it’s the new wife:

quote:

On June 4, 2015, Griner and Johnson announced that Johnson was pregnant with twins. The following day, and after less than a month of marriage, Griner filed for an annulment of the marriage citing fraud and duress; the annulment was denied. Johnson gave birth to twin girls on October 12, 2015, 16 weeks premature; they were conceived with Johnson's eggs through in vitro fertilization. Griner was ordered to pay child support to Johnson. The couple's divorce was finalized in June 2016.

Griner became engaged to Cherelle Watson in August 2018 and they married in June 2019. Watson later changed her name to Cherelle Griner.

She should consider being better at basketball then. The NBA would cream their pants over a woman that could compete with the men. Unfortunately, Griner would get bullied by every big man in the ESPN 300 high school rankings. That’s why she plays in a league that hemorrhages money
