Tiger is probably more focused on getting his body more & more healthy. If he can get back to playing competitive golf a year or so from now he might give them a different answer but right now it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense given the massive distraction it will cause

He can barely play 72 without being in horrible pain. Walking 72 is hard enough. He did everything humanly possible to play Augusta and St. Andrew's this year. He's essentially already semi-retired limiting appearances to marquee tournaments. There's next to no chance he's playing the Champions Tour.

You think he's getting out of bed to play in a shite LIV event? With a shitty field that he couldn't even consistently dominate because his body's broken down?

Just because you're lacking in self-respect doesn't mean t modern GOAT is as well.

Saudi Aramco, according to Norman in the same interview, is the biggest financial backer of the LPGA...

He could do that with pocket change. You guys don’t get what a GOAT looks like. His son is doing well too.

The Tiger haters are struggling to cope with the idea that Eldrick just skyrocketed up the patriotic rankings of GOAT athletes.

A big part of the "Jack is #1" angle is moralism. If this story is even close to being true then the moralists have been completely undermined.

He wanted to come back on the second tier tour (PGA) because of its ease

It makes sense to start low

Or he is scared

Nope, the LIV tour is now the right wing tour because of Trump and the Saudis.

And people think the PGA can compete with this? The golfers that have left and will be leaving are doing so because of a once in a lifetime opportunity that may never happen again in the history of golf. I don't blame any of them one bit because I know what I would be doing. But I feel this is going to suck for American fans of golf in the long run.

In the long run these Saudi payouts are not sustainable. Yes, the Saudis do have the money to keep throwing at it but, my point, is that at some point the Saudis will tire of dropping $100s of millions into a pit. At some point they'll want ROI. Or at some point they'll have the PGA wiped out and be the only game and they won't need to throw money at LIV.

At some point the money will recede and the golfers will return to "their" tour. That tour may be in shambles though.

I just don't see how any of this is good for golf. Good for a few golfers who are getting paid, but good for the entire game? No.

Tiger turning down that type of money tells you just how much money Tiger has. Tiger literally has frick you money.

Unfortunately there are still people out there so mentally broken they think the PGA is the top tier of golf still.

Pretty sad isn't it.

his networth is right at a billon. He doesnt need that money. For him, I am sure he still wants the major record...which is probably almost surely out of reach but...if he gets healthy ever again its not out of the question.

I feel like he is slowly working into tournaments in order to try and build his body back up and win a few more majors. He is still only 46. he could have a dominant year or two, especially if these guys jump for the liv tour

Tiger can barely stand up and walk a flat course for 4 rounds, much less play 14 events a year. That probably had a lot to do with it. Tiger has done many appearance fee gigs overseas.

Dude is more concerned about developing Charlie then he is money or his own career at this point. He doesn't need the money. He can't get time with Charlie back if he decides to do the LIV

It's good to be king.

What may be getting lost in a lot of what motivates Tiger these days is the fact that his business brand still generates most of his income. Tiger has won 122 million on golf courses around the world in his career. The vast majority of his wealth, 1.4 billion dollars, has come from sponsors and continues to come from sponsors.

Tiger came close to losing all of that just a few years ago. The guy had a remarkable comeback with the general public and his sponsors. Maybe the thought of losing his business brand and legacy again is just more than he's willing to gamble. Millions of dollars are still streaming to Jupiter Florida.
