I for one am happy to have Mike Sr. back on the air. This will replace the current revolving door of radio hosts, that have taken the place of what was the Clinton Yates (or Clinton & Friends) experiment that I never quite liked.
The old Mike & Mike show was very good. Kinda sad to see the way it ended.

What happened to Mike & Mike,
Greenie happened to Mike and Mike. He was always the worst part of the show. I quit listening altogether because of him alone.

Clinton Yates was just another race baiting black dude. I’m glad he’s gone.

Things were better when Mike & Mike were still on the air. I miss the times of being able to watch sports talk TV without being lectured too about social issues, or having the people that pretend not to watch talk down on the people that do.Yet, those same people know everything that went on during a show.

I honestly have no idea what shows are on ESPN radio anymore. I can barely tell you what’s on ESPN television outside of actual games.
The 2000s and early 2010s sports radio was incredible but it’s dead.

I actually liked Mike and Mike for a morning drive It was sports talk. And usually leaned football heavy. They didn’t take dumb calls. Didn’t talk social issues. Didn’t try to clown or be funny or be dirty.

These guys are all chumps compared to the DP show.

ESPN Radio has officially run out of ideas.

They should call it Mike and Mike. That has a good ring to it.

neither of them are great and the early Mike and Mike shows were catchy because it was more off the cuff interactions and it was funny. Golic was kinda like the jock bully and Greeny was the nerd trying to stick up for himself with quick wit.
When ESPN tried to "maximize" the product it became more scripted, and the chemistry died.
Greeny is an uptown Manhattan prep school Jew frat boy.
At least Golic played sports at a high level and comes from a family of athletes. His insight into college football and the business aspect of professional sports was always undersold. ESPN just wanted him to be the clown and it was forced.
I have no idea how this will go I haven't seen either of them in 15 years.
