They're terrible live, so they probably wouldn't.

If they want to go the classic rock route they have done in the past and have a Texas flair then ZZ Top.

Still perplexed as to why Coldplay got the nod in Metallica's home town.

Because the people who tune in for the half time show don't want to hear Metallica.

What is up with him apart from fricking over Ireland...the last real fans he had.

Dude hasn't put out an album in forever that wasn't an "experiment"

I'm sure he's living the good life.

Maybe in 20 years the Super Bowl will trot him out like the Stones and the Who...to get lifetime achievement applauses.

The Super Bowl's in Houston, TX next year and Beyonce's from Houston. I don't know why the NFL didn't just save her for the Super Bowl halftime show next year. And they could have used someone like Santana (SF native) or The Counting Crows (SF Band) to do the Super Bowl halftime show this year.

If I remember correctly, the only country acts to play at halftime of the Super Bowl was for the Cowboys/Bills game in Atlanta, 1994. That was Travis Tritt, The Judds, Tanya Tucker and Clint Black.

If a current country artist were to do it, I am afraid it would be one of the more recent pop-country acts, because the thought would be that would drive viewership.

However, I would love to see Garth do it. Or with it being in Houston, King George. Unfortunately George only does one thing - stand there and sing - so you can't build a huge production around him.
