Think they meant the Astros woke up Garcia…..

Since that moment, 3 home runs and 9 RBI on the way to winning games 6 and 7

His 9 RBI was more than the Astros scored as a team in games 6 and 7

If you need waking up in the ALCS you've already lost

I don’t think Astros fans have any love for Maldonado. He’s a clown.

And a ball off the top of the wall as well.

Curious if the butthurt admins will anchor this thread also because it’s poking fun at the Astros, or if they will leave it alone since it’s aimed at Maldy.

I mean, what kicked the entire thing off was him pimping the frick out of a piss rocket homerun… so it’s not exactly like he was “asleep” before the confrontation

Garcia has owned the Astros since he joined the Rangers basically. Even when Texas was bad

Good riddance, to him and Dusty.

Dude was one of the worst qualified hitters in baseball and this year was objectively one of the worst defending catchers as well by almost every advanced catching metric.

It’s beyond incomprehensible for Dusty to play that guy as much as he has this year.

He struck out 4 times in game 6 after that moment. What “woke” him up was maybe Astro fans booing, but more hanging pitches

Garcia left the entire Astros organization and fanbase in utter shambles.

It’s the closest thing I can remember to the Saints NFCCG loss to the Rams or to the Falcons 28-3 collapse in the Super Bowl.

I mean...didn't they hand out crowns for game 6 because they are the kings of the American League? Didn't they also claim they were just awoken? Wasn't all of the talking points going into Sunday how ALtuve broke the Rangers just like Freese did in '11?

The Astros and their fans thought that the series was over because they expected the Rangers to fold. I know a lot of Astros fans who talked a ton of smack from Friday until Bombi parked that grandy in the crawford boxes Sunday. There are Astro fans on this board wishing ill will including career ending injuries against Garcia because he is an emotional guy who went from Castoff to All Star and ALCS MVP. Dude defected Cuba to chase a dream and was castoff just to bounce back and do what he has done the past couple seasons. Yeah he pimps bombs, and yes he is going to be upset to get ribbed by a heater from a guy who had hit 1 righty all year on the first pitch after he pimped a HR.

It's ok to have fun playing baseball. It's ok that your fanbase just expected to win. You have had a hell of a run, and have owned the Rangers in the process. The fanbase has also pimped the hell out of this run, so it's ok if the other 29 fanbases who have listened to your fanbases incessant crowing enjoy the hell out of seeing you eat it.

I didn’t read all of that but the Rangers bounced back and earned it. I hope they win it all if it’s against Philly.

To suggest what happened is comparable to the Falcons collapse is obviously one of the most idiotic things I’ve ever heard

Garcia still is a no class arse hat.

As a team the Rangers hit better than the Astros. Plus the Astros pitching weakness showed.

Personally I wouldn’t have given Garcia anything to hit just to shut him up

What I took from that wasn't a direct apples to apples comparison of the on the field competition, but rather the fanbases. The Falcons scored to go up 28-3 and thought they broke the Pats and were popping champagne. Similarly the Astros fanbase after game 5 were already making plans for another World Series. Just like Blank coming down to the sidelines cigar on hand, the Stros fans showed up with their crowns, and then it was ripped from under them. I can understand what he was implying in his original take.

I cannot understand it because it’s an absurd comparison
