I mean...didn't they hand out crowns for game 6 because they are the kings of the American League?

Uh no. That's not why. And it wasn't for game 6.

Please enlighten me, because it seemed like a 1/3 of the crowd had those Burger King crowns on for Game 6.

What I took from that wasn't a direct apples to apples comparison of the on the field competition, but rather the fanbases. The Falcons scored to go up 28-3 and thought they broke the Pats and were popping champagne. Similarly the Astros fanbase after game 5 were already making plans for another World Series. Just like Blank coming down to the sidelines cigar on hand, the Stros fans showed up with their crowns, and then it was ripped from under them. I can understand what he was implying in his original take.

You have no clue about the things which you speak. Not a single Astro fan thought we were cruisin' to a WS. We were generally shocked we made it to the ALCS. Everybody remembered 2019 and know that we could easily lose 6 and 7 at home. You also have no idea what the crowns stand for or that they were around the whole entire season.

It’s like four sections in RF. They do it every game. Is that really the basis for your fan fiction theory?

Exactly. It's a few right field sections and it was every single home game. There are a few ladies that supplied them every game. They actually weren't BK crowns. Had nothing to do with Kings of the AL. Every single hot take you posted here was wrong. You are incredibly clueless about the Astros and their fanbase.

Unwrinkle your panties. I was referring to the general attitude of the vocal Astro fans who were quick to say the tide turned with Altuves swing and the Rangers had been broken. I didn't realize the whole King Tuck thing, but seeing as how active he was in Game 6&7 it would make sense that I saw them so much and assummed it was beyond that area.

I was wrong about the crowns, and I admittedly don't know the traditions of the Astros as well as Astro fans do. I also understand they weren't BK crowns, that is the applicable comparison that came to mind to seeing paper crowns.

The attitude of the vocal portion of your fanbase isn't a hot take. The media saying "I don't know how Texas can come back from this" isn't a hot take. I didn't say all, but like it or not the success of your organization has led to a lot of frontrunners and bandwagoners jumping onboard over the better part of the last decade. Everything the longtime Astro fans hate about the Yankee and Dodgers fans I think y'all are blind to having an element of that to your own fanbase that grows every year.

I'm really unsure who you've been listening to. Posters on the DAT thread here didn't feel this way. Posters in a whole bunch of Astros fan FB pages didn't feel that way. I heard half the radio guys on 790 pick the Rangers. I heard all of the pregame folks pick the Rangers except for Papi. It sounds like this is something you've created in your head, because I've not seen it at all. Get off Twitter and Tik Tok.

Eh...It's actually not bad with more of a backstory to it. Much better tradition than some parks I've been to where certain sections are know for drunks and fistfights.

I have no dog in this fight, but Astros fans wore crowns in right field all season long.

Edit: Already been explained.

You're speaking of before the series, which I agree with. Following the sweep in Arlington, especially with the theatrics of Game 5, that was not the narrative. Possibly it was in an isolated circle of Astro fans who knew the holes in their armor, but not the group as a whole. I'm not intending to implicate the entire fanbase. However, to say that it wasn't an expectation by many that the Astros finally started hitting the ball and that the Rangers were knocked to the mat and, "how do you turn around with the top of the lineup freezing cold, no bullpen depth, after a soul crushing loss" wasn't a very hot take Friday-Sunday is not something I can agree with, outside of maybe an isolated group of level headed possibly borderline negative Astro fans.

I don’t think Astros fans have any love for Maldonado. He’s a clown.

One of the worst catchers in MLB both defensively and at the plate. Instead of letting a promising rookie (Diaz) who significantly out play him develop and play dusty threw out Maldonado every week because of “intangibles”
