Bradshaw better than Staubach?

Not on this planet or any other.

Your post is a joke. Marino was like taking a Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Manning led team in the 2009ish years in a time machine to 1984.

Always 1984. He played 17 years, you know.

Oh I know. He had no running game and seldom had a defense in an era where defenses had free reign. No QB today would have put up his numbers in 1984 on that Dolphins team.

Marino is the best QB ever. Based on just throwing a football. SB trophies and playoff wins are team accolades. He was the team.

Give Marino a HOF running back and a decent defense, he would have won 3 to 4 SBs.

If you could construct the perfect QB, it was undoubtedly Dan Marino.

This is exactly what it would be like to replace Barry Sanders with a god tier QB talent. A losing team with one great player.

I bet somebody would have done better than 29/50 for 318, 1 TD, 2 picks, and a 66.9 passer rating in the Super Bowl that year.

Unitas not even on the list. Totally bogus.

If I had my way, Unitas would be number one on the list . This is a list made by young people who are not students of the game. They are going off what they've seen on tv the last 20 years.

Favre over Marino? Give me a damn break. Bradshaw over Unitas, Marino, and Elway? Please. They could carry teams. Bradshaw couldn't. Prime Aaron Rogers is in no way better than Unitas, Marino, or Elway.

Last two minutes of a game? Montana.

As good as Elway was he would have never won a SB had it not been for TD. Very overrated

Brees:
80k pass yds
571 TDs

Marino:
61k pass yds
420 TDs

This ignores major changes in the game over those 35 years or so.

I’m just glad that now Brady has retired and you don’t have to hate him for beating your teams anymore, everyone can stop the silly arguments that he’s not the GOAT and hopefully we never have to see a spreadsheet again.

. I don’t believe Brees would have had an 18 year career in that era.

Maybe, few did though Tarkenton did play 18 years

But Some of the most under appreciated advancements over the last 30-40 years are in medical treatments, general fitness and nutrition and just better knowledge about how to get/stay in shape. Players didn’t work out year round, in the 70s most of them had other jobs in the offseason. Some of those older players may have had longer careers with modern medicine and better knowledge how to take care of their bodies.

John Elway is the most overrated athlete in modern history.

His numbers are nothing historically, which is fine given the change in the game. But even in his era, he led the league in yards 1 time and completions 1 time. That’s it. Never led the league in anything else, ever. Unless you want to include attempts.

When he won MVP in 1987, he didn’t lead the league in a single stat

With Elway, stats don’t tell the whole story… he was a playmaker when it mattered most just to get through the AFC. The 3 SBs he lost the talent difference was huge for the other teams.

Elway DRAGGED garbage teams with Denver to 3 Super Bowls (evident by how they all got blown out).... Hated his Coach, thought he hamstrung him.

New Coach in the 90s, better players around him, two back-to-back Super Bowl wins.

If you had to choose a QB to play in ANY ERA, succeed in any era, you choose Elway, otherwise you're a fool. Brady would be snapped like a twig in the 70s.

He didn’t even dominate in his own era

Montana and young were clearly better

Come on, it wasn't TD. It was fricking Alex Gibbs and the line. TD is one of the most overrated players in NFL history considering that he's in the Hall.

Know how we can tell you are just looking at stats and didn’t see him play

It was a strike year, in1982 another strike year the MVP was a kicker I’m not sure if the stats are just for the 12 non strike games. Iirc Montana broke the line and played in at least 1 strike game but San Reaves offense was to the 80s NFL what Les Miles offense was to CFB in the 2000s. Elway dragged some basically mediocre teams to 3 SBs.
