Maybe. In the last season of DTS the German investors made it clear to Haas that in order to get funding there needs to be a German driver in a seat.

Russian vs German money... hmmm

and that De Vries (sp?) is going to Alfa...

That would be pretty surprising. Don't see de Vries driving for Ferrari.

Albon to Williams might just be Horner fricking with Mercedes. Drive up the price of the seat, not sure if that would play into the salary cap since drivers costs are separate.

I mean, we're talking about a RedBull contracted driver taking over a Mercedes customer team's seat... its freaking odd

Especially with RBR branching into their own P/U... that seems like a giant conflict of interest right there that Toto would want to avoid at all costs.. and de Vries seems capable enough of a driver to warrant a shot at the seat

To me de Vries to Williams makes the most sense because of the Merc connection, but maybe Williams is looking at other engine options in the near future.

Just from the outside I'm not sure why a team would choose Albon over de Vries.

The rumors are pretty strong of Schumacher to AR with Bottas, Albon to Williams and seats becoming open at Haas. I doubt Latifi leaves because I think he brings in a large chunk of money and he has been doing much better in recent weeks

I’m adding Schumacher to leave Haas rumor because he and Mazespin are in a really really dark place with each other

George Russell is going to have a shite time being Hamilton's teammate.

People like to talk smack about Lewis being a beta but the dude is ruthless when it comes to being 1st in team orders.

I think George will fall in line for one season to learn “Merc way” then hammer down as Lewis heads off to retirement pasture/served his time.

It may take a year for him to adjust. Hell, maybe a year to learn how to pass people.

Russell absolutely is prepared to be the number 2 driver for a year or two and understands that role. It has already been communicated to him and he has expressed willingness to do this. The between the lines being he will be the number 1 driver when Lewis retired in a year or two and he will get the preferential treatment.

Does anyone else feel like Hamilton is starting to be a beat slower than he was in previous years?

No, I think its just that RB has an equal car this year.

Good for Albon. He deserves a second chance after getting kicked in the balls by RBR.

Meh, he was more underperforming in that seat than Checo is. Gasley's the one who was kicked in the balls and has shown he should be in RB2.

If Lewis didn't screw him over in Austria, Albon might have had a completely different fate.
