I'm not sure how a TRO could be issued that overturns the rules he had already agreed to. It seems like the status quo should be maintained until it's sorted out, not an upheaval.
But then again, I'm not actively trying to destroy college sports, so my views may be biased.

I’m certain every coach pursues every legal avenue to strengthen their team. If they don’t they’re not doing their jobs.

Go ahead. Then when the TRO is struck down and he’s ultimately ruled ineligible, they can forfeit half their season and not go to the tournament.

Yep. I don't care what school it is or who the coach is. That's immaterial to me.
I don't like the D2+JUCO guys getting an extra year in baseball either, even though LSU is going to have a guy on the roster this season using that extra year.
It's the general extending of eligibility and fricking over all the guys coming after them. There is also an element of having zero consequences for your choices. Bediako made the decision to give up his eligibility and enter pro ball. fricking live with it.

This is all Shear Insanity that this Kid, the one from Baylor, and several others that have played in the G-League or Pro Overseas are allowed to play College Basketball. Insanity, no other way to put it. Just F'ing Nuts!

He's not very good but it's still absurd.

If he plays, and then loses his case, does bama vacate wins?
Posted on 1/21/26 at 4:29 pm to bbap
No, the judge said they cant do that.

This is reaching peak levels of ridiculousness and establishes the precedent for football players who flopped in the NFL to return to college for the financial incentives it offers.

What is the basis for your outrage? They are all professionals now. They all get paid. There is no amateur status anymore. Plus, the NBA has no affiliation to college basketball. So there is no continuation. Every rule is just arbitrary and made up. The only way it sticks, if it is legally defended.
It should be simple. 5 years to play 4. Your clock starts your first season playing in college. It doesn't matter what you've done before. If LeBron James wants to play in college after he retires, then great. He's never played in college and can play 4 full years. Same with all the other sports.
Its all changed. It's time to accept it.

I will never accept it. Just because something is legal doesn't mean it is right.

I don't understand the basis for your belief. They are all being paid. It's a for-profit business now. There is no such thing as "college" or amateur sports anymore.
Whoever this guy from Alabama is made a financial decision to return. He'll make more money playing for them, than the G League. He has eligibility left. How would he have lost it? He's not under contract. He's free to sign with anyone he wishes. Why would he be disqualified from college sports now?

I never played a down of high school football. Does that mean if they cut me a $10,000 check to come play QB for them for some extra cash I have the right to just because I have four years of eligibility left?
