Laziest trope when these topics come up. If you haven’t investigated all options you can’t legitimately ask that question.

JUst as I said earlier in the thread. Knew both UM teams were lower. Figured Clemson was but didn't bother looking it up.

eta9 What is TCUN? That count up north?

I definitely wouldn't say "not close" is accurate, though.

93 vs 89 actually is a pretty wide gulf when it comes to recruiting.

Be honest. Do you think he's a good coach, or is the talent and playing in a top heavy league the reason for his success? Basically loses most games where talent is equal or in the other teams favor

Which means he's doing the most important things well. Recruiting and winning the games he is supposed to win.

You guys with the "X"ichigan thing is so dumb. You guys look like clowns.
"Hey guys I have a great idea!! During Michigan week, let's replace all M's in the city with X's! Instead of Michigan we'll call them Xichigan. This will really piss those people from up North off!"

Now with the latest Rumor coming out of the A&M sites, this could get interesting depending on what happens on Sat. I still don’t think Ohio State will move on from Day, but you never know? I also don’t think Day would leave Ohio State for Texas A&M. I’m not sold on Fickel coming back or Hartline being ready to take over either. So, whether now or whenever, if Day ever leaves, who realistically could Ohio State get that would be better?

The last coach to win you a title.

Michigan is on par with Penn State in talent rankings.

Ohio State is closer to Alabama and Georgia than they are Michigan.

Michigan has dominated Ohio State by out coaching / out cheating them.

That's on Day.

Michigan actually winning a national championship this year would be unprecedented in the playoff era.

The 247 talent composite rankings started in 2015. Lowest ranked team to win a championship was 2016 Clemson at 9. Michigan is 15th this year.

2019 Top 10 wins: Penn State #9, Michigan #10, Wisconsin #10.

2021 Top 10 wins: Michigan State #7, Utah #10.
2022 Top 10 wins: Notre Dame #5 (was week 1, ND finished 8-4)

A lot of over-ranked teams on this list. In 2023: Penn State and ND, both ranked just inside the Top 10 on Ohio State week.

Here are the wins over top 10 teams since he took over. Most of them are against teams just lingering at the low end of the rankings and most teams fell out of the rankings later in the year. That's not an impressive record.

2018 - #9 Washington
2019 - #9 Penn State, #10 Michigan, #10 Wisconsin
2020 - #2 Clemson
2021 - #7 Michigan State, #6 Michigan, #10 Utah
2022 - #5 Notre Dame
2023 - #9 Notre Dame, #7 Penn State

and how often would you say OSU was the more talented team? I am basically saying he is winning the games he should and losing the games he should based on talent...meaning he is not adding much value, other than beard dye sales in Columbus
