It's not like the SEC had multiple conference champs finish with 5 losses.

I'm not arguing on behalf of the ACC. I'm just saying FSU would have been elite no matter what league

It’ll likely never happen, but if you really, really wanted to make the ultimate statement and solidly yourself as the GOAT, add Notre Dame and Ohio State. Nothing else is needed.

What are you, nineteen?

Ohio state is never leaving the Big Ten, kid. They’re not shelling 100 years of tradition and academic research affiliation just to say they play in the best football conference. It would take the entire league imploding for them to leave.

Can the SEC kick Missouri out and add FSU? Seriously, what does Mizzou add to the SEC? Maybe the St. Louis media market but I'd think that could be made up for with an FSU add to make the FSU/UF game an annual SEC grudge match.

I mean it's not the SEC's fault that FSU chickened out back in 90.

Missouris media market is solid and it is a strong academic school. They’ve played in two SEC title games in their first decade in the league and won the Cotton and Citrus bowls. Compare that with what Nebraska has done since moving leagues. Same goes for TAMU.

Correct. Adding Missouri gave us the St. Louis AND Kansas City TV markets. Lots of Mizzou alums in those cities.

This is where we're headed in college football. How long is Alabama going to tolerate getting the same media rights payout as Vandy? It's all going to move towards the powers saying we generate x revenue for the conference but only get back some lower number.

I disagree. The top one or two conferences can afford parity, and will always understand the importance of that reality. The only reason you are seeing FSU scream about this is because the ACC is stuck in a horrific media deal and cannot escape,

You don’t see Alabama or Ohio State complaining about Vanderbilt or Northwestern, and you won’t see that happen.

Right. You get to have someone to beat. Also private schools matter for disclosure reasons.

Vandy also is a title contender in baseball now and usually fields a half decent team in basketball most years. They've managed to build up their non rev sports with the money from the SEC nicely.

They would hwve never won any of their National Titles if they had moved into the SEC and Bobby Bowden knew it. He blatantly said it out loud.

That’s bullshite. FSU dominated UF when UF was dominating the SEC. FSU also had to play Miami every year.

FSU would have had no problems in the SEC in Bowden’s 1987-2000 prime.

There's people on this board that think it's always been like this for the SEC.

As for OP, FSU isn't going anywhere. This is all talk.

I wonder if they regret joining the ACC over the SEC back in 90.
.

Nah, they wouldn't have had their 90s dynasty and Bowden probably never wins his NC

As an SEC fan I would love UNC and Duke.

Football: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee (others but you get the point)

Basketball: Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Texas, Tennessee

Baseball: LSU, Florida, Vanderbilt, UNC, Texas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miss St

Adding two basketball programs gets the SEC closer to dominating the three majors.

Texas and Oklahoma bring nothing to this conference. Just long road trips.

Give me NC State and FSU.

A quick analysis will tell FSU they can just pay the buyout and break even after X amount of years. Assuming a SEC with FSU can generate 75M per team/year, that extra 45M a year will go a long way to paying off debts.
