What I mean was, they could have been at Harrahs prior to curfew. I would imagine that the starting QB being at Harrahs well into the night would have been reported more widely

How bad is Nick Saban with money? I remember rumors coming out that he had made some really bad investments when he was rumored about going to Texas.

Supposedly Lee quit going to class after JJ became the starter, flunked a class and so didn’t graduate on time, so LSU lost an early enrollee spot and the guy went to auburn instead. Mettenberger was the backup for the nc game, not Lee.Lee was either suspended or ineligible. That’s why Les couldn’t pull JJ.

Rumors of LSU point shaving in 98 or 99. When master P was hanging around the program.
Supposedly some of the dbs were in on it with master P.
I actually heard that one from a player on the team.

So how does that explain him being dressed out for the game and, IIRC, warming up at one point?

Forgot.. I have one more about DJ. He sat out a year after HS because he didn't get into college. He didn't make the required scores on the SAT/ACT, and in fact didn't take them.
He was at the beach with friends, and hadn't taken the tests yet, and had one last shot. The day of the test they wake up expecting him to be gone back to take the test, and he comes rolling out of bed at about 10... just flat skipped the test. The rest of his friends (including my customer who was there) all went to play college golf while he sat home that year

Supposedly after Nick Saban first came to Baton Rouge from East Lansing he had a change of heart and wanted to come back to Michigan State and even called up his friends on the Board of Trustees at MSU about being allowed to come back, but the MSU president said no.

Supposedly his kids were not happy, his wife wasn't happy about it and he saw LSU's facilities at the time. None of his assistants came with him from MSU supposedly because they didn't think he'd stay at LSU. Mainly though since he took the job sight unseen he was disappointed by the facilities.

I'm sure this is true. Hanagriff touched on it after Will Wade was hired.
He mentioned when Saban was first shown around LSU, he was blown away by the facilities, in a bad way. Saban basically made a list of demands on the spot that he felt were non-negotiable if people really wanted the program to succeed.
