Was talking to some co-workers and we were talking about old sports talk radio shows. The topic shifted to what you liked and what you hated that they did regularly
so here are my three favorites
1. The Old Dan Patrick ESPN Radio Show - callers saying their height and weight, the best was hearing a guy say something like "Hey Dan, 5'10 255" and Dan goes "BEEFY"
2. The Old Tony Kornheiser Radio Show - every time someone on the show plugs something, a show staffer hits the bell. A ton of shows have copied this but I am pretty sure TK's DC Radio Show was the first.
3. The Jom Rome Show - too many to count but the one thing I always laughed at was when he talked College Baseball and he would drop in the "PING" to make fun of the metal bats
what are some of your favorites?

The old Jim Healy radio show on KMPC in Los Angeles was absolutely great. Just sound bites and drops as he gave the sports headlines.
The dreaded 6o’clock tone

At some point early in his show days, Jim Rome got infatuated with Auburn's War Eagle! From then on he would always put War in front of something he thought was awesome.
Winnepeg set a CFL record Saturday with 8 rushing touchdowns. War Blue Bombers!

Does this on his current show on nbc. But they just ring a bell now

"Hey Dan, this is Tim in Wichita Falls, 6'0 320lbs"
Rob Dibble WHOA, FAT!
DP "You are a big boy aren't you?"
would get me everytime
TKornheiser hanging up on every single caller that nervously would ask him how he is doing before asking their question was gold as well.

Hey Jim,
My beef is with this Jerry the King guy. Who the hell does he think he is barfing up awful Yankee takes? The guy isn’t even from New York. The only dongs this guy sees in person are at the male revue. I’m out.

“Bite Me Wednesday” on Papa Joe Chevalier was a favorite of a young walrus

I enjoyed Steve Czaban when he was on nationally. He would ask "where you at, and what you haulin'?" to truckers.

Hey Jim,
They say when you come at The King you best not miss. This jabroni Texas Tiger? He didn’t just miss, he airballed it into row Z! There’s only two things in Texas, Jim, and steers can’t post on TD. Texas Turd knows he can’t touch me on the air or at Sonic. As someone from the Greatest City in the World New York: we don’t talk tough, we drop clowns that talk out like this rookie. War THE JUDGE getting healthy. Out.
