He is certainly trending down but how is Joakim Noah not on this list. Finished top 5 in MVP voting and All-NBA first team just two years ago.

The ranking is the starting Center for each team, Noah has been coming off of the bench.

I was pleased with ESPN to see Gasol ranked appropriately for the first time in years.
Awwww did the GM survey upset you that much

is inaccurate title for the thread.
Brandon Doolittle has a particular way He grades players...I've posted about it before. It will be updated throughout the season.
ESPN Rank is a composite of many writers.
The composite ranking has Gasol as the 10th best player in the league.
/this ridiculous thread.

While I wasn't extremely excited about that contract, those numbers are inflated.

9. Karl-Anthony Towns
Somebody mind explaining how a rookie is a top ten center with no more than 10 games played?
Posted on 11/17/15 at 3:44 pm to RonBurgundy
And he is basing it off of like less than 10 games because Gasol has starting to round back in to form like I said he would. The guy didn't play for Spain this summer for like the first time this season and looked noticeably not ready. He then got neck spasms, which led him to being a game time decision for like 5 straight games.
His last 5 games: 21.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists, while shooting 56% from the field and 87% from the line.
Had a nice 31 point game in a win against Portland Friday.

It certainly loses some of its legitimacy knowing that the input isn't coming directly from the GMs. It's basically the CFB coaches poll that's filled out by Assistant SIDs these days.

Ohhhhhhh yeah that is what it is. I for one am shocked that it has suddenly lost credibility in your eyes.
How about who voted for first team All-NBA and the ASG?

To formulate the rankings, I study each player's on-court performance and advanced metrics, including wins above replacement player (WARP) and real plus-minus (RPM). Then I slot the players as I see them, according to their predicted quality of play for this season.

Among Centers, He's 8th in PER, 8th in Value Added, 8th in Wins Added.
And he just turned 20 on Sunday.
You guys need to watch some T'Wolves and see how good he is.

Opening sentence of the article reads: My annual ESPN Insider position rankings are back.
it is not a composite of ESPN ranking anything.
It is Doolittle's rankings. One writer. Not ESPN.
