Horford gives you things Whiteside, Jordan, and Gobert do not though. It isn't a one way thing.

He should be a bit higher I agree. Didn't study the list a whole lot.

yea less important things.
Gobert and Favors killed the Hawks front court the other night. Size gives them fits.
Whiteside had his way with Horford in a Heat loss in early November. He literally dominated every time he touched the ball. He owned the lane, blocking shots and grabbing a ton of rebounds.

Less important to you maybe, it got the Hawks a 1 seed in the playoffs last year and probably a top 3 seed this year. The team as a whole isn't talented enough to win the whole thing but that isn't because Horford isn't a conventional center. Horford also gives other teams fits with his ability to pass and stretch the floor. It let's Teague and Schroder get into the lane.

Forgetting age, would anyone actually take Towns over Monroe, Lopez, and Gasol this year?
Yes, a lot of people would actually

Again, you're painting it as if i dont like the guy as a player. I do. He just has flaws and isn't as good as Hassan Whiteside
do you remember getting swept by Cleveland at all? Your midget front court got owned on the boards by Lebron, Tristian Thompson and Mozgov

Pretty sure 32 out of 32 GMs would.

I'm guessing they have Kristaps as a PF as well playing next to Lopez.

Highlighting the sweep by the Cavs is a terrible argument. The Hawks got destroyed by one of maybe 3 teams who were better than them last year. One had Lebron and one had Curry. The two best players on the planet. So without having one widely recognized basketball star the Hawks put together a pretty great season with Horford and their/his style of play. I'm sorry it isn't the style you like or prefer but that doesn't make him worse of a player than Whiteside who did less last season on a team with basketball stars.

How the hell did Max Unger not make the list

You're pretty sure every single GM prefers Towns over Monroe forgetting age? I'm going to disagree with you there.

you're super defensive and its not a good look.
Good for the Hawks regular season last year and good for their style of play. That doesn't change anything here about my point. They can be a good team and I can still rather better front court players over what they have.

Why would you say "forgetting age" though? Nurkic is on the list and hasn't played. Even if you are talking about this year, Towns will continue to get better. I'd take him over Monroe right now.

Hibbert is too high
Posted on 11/17/15 at 1:53 pm to steeltiger17
Overrated by Saints fans so they can claim they "won" the Graham trade.
Posted on 11/17/15 at 1:55 pm to UncleBlazer
Monroe has a more polished post game and averages more points while shooting at a much better clip. Monroe has a slightly worse rebound % but has more than 10 games to back that up. Towns blocks more shots and shoots a better FT %. Hardly a unanimous decision in favor of Towns.
When Parker is fully healthy, I fully expect Monroe's numbers to improve as he'll have more space to work down low, something he never got playing next to Drummond.

If this list is building a team for the future, I think everyone would agree on Towns. It would be too easy. I want to know who would you rather have for just this season plus playoffs.

Monroe is brutally terrible on defense
Posted on 11/17/15 at 1:58 pm to Lester Earl
I'm not defensive you're just basing your opinion of who is a better player off your definition of better and the right way to play a position. Which I guess is fair and valid for you to think that way it just doesn't make you correct.

Can't just say forgetting age.
Towns is 20 years old posting a PER over 20 in his first ever 10 NBA games. That is just insane. His defense is leaps and bounds better than Monroe too
ETA- At just 20 years old
