Why? That is literally the first thing I said in my first post.

Of course everyone would take a 5 years younger Towns. This is a discussion on top centers TODAY

At first I thought you posted something without trolling because Dwight was only ranked 5th. Then I saw where Gasol was ranked and you're comment and it made a little bit more sense to me.

It's better to base my opinion off of that rather than just liking him more because he plays for my home team.

His defense is leaps and bounds better than Monroe too

And his offense is much worse than Monroe's.

Not to mention Monroe's FG%s were 48.6%, 49.7%, and 49.6% over the last three years; let's not look at him as some guarantee to maintain his 54.8% FG%. I'd be happy to take Towns over Monroe for 2015 only.

Seems to me like it's been a good discussion so far without either of those guys being discussed Don't see your accusations of trolling really being needed here bro.

Forgetting age, would anyone actually take Towns over Monroe, Lopez, and Gasol this year?

I would take him just as quickly. Rankings 1 through whatever is stupid. Tier ranking is better. There is a hair bit of difference between 9 and 13.

He's not playing next to Andre Drummond any more. He has more space and will have even more when Parker is fully healthy. Who's to say Towns can keep up his FG% now? Or any of his stats for that matter

i think Horford is more of a PF just playing out of position. Hawks struggle with size more than any other good team in the league. I think Gobert is a little high on the list, and Deandre is high as well. Drummond at 1 for this season is fine. He's been killing it so far.

I'll bank on what Towns has done in his first 30 days than what Monroe has done for his career. I don't think you realize just how good Towns has been and how much better he will be by April.

I haven't implied that it's written in stone. You've crowned Monroe as the significantly better offensive player over a minute sample size where Monroe is vastly outperforming his career #.

I think an interesting question is who you would rather build your franchise around: AD or Towns.

he is, but there are still people that would claim he is an elite NBA center.

That is an uninspiring list.

His offensive situation is different. It's not like he is outperforming his numbers with the same exact team. There is a reason for his numbers improving. Do I think he will shoot 55% over 82 games? No, but I think he will shoot over 50%.

I realize he has been very good but why is Towns able to improve by season's end but not Monroe? It's not as if Monroe is 30 and is what he is. He is 25 and in an offense with space for the 1st time in his career.

Not really...a lot of good young talent at the C position. The list of SGs on the other hand...

He's a great NBA player, but when I think elite I think the top 10-15 guys in the league and IMO Horford isn't that high. I don't know if there's really any center I would call elite right now. Probably Drummond, and Timmy, Gasol, and Dwight were all there at one point.
