you do realize they can see the amount of listeners, if enough people turn it off during a skit like that they probably won't do it again
They can see who receives and decodes their radio signals?

of all the non sports stuff radio sports radio shows waste time with THIS is what you decide to run off and cry about?

I've heard segments on shows (like Bad Radio on the Ticket in Dallas which is the most popular sports radio in DFW by a country mile) where the hosts talk about what TV show or movie they watched the night before yet somehow got the entire plot wrong. There is a TON of air to fill. Especially during summer. shite, the Ticket has a segment on one show where it's just 8 minutes of them going through the celebrity birthdays of the day.

I literally listened to the G-Bag Nation today and they spent like two segments discussing how to cook perfect BBQ for tomorrow (One of the guys is a hardcore BBQ guy and is well educated on the subject).

I don't like the Ticket and literally don't know anyone out of like my legit group of 10-15 actual friends here who listen to it over the Fan (I don't know if it's an age thing or what, but my uncles here are the only ones I know personally who listen to the Ticket and are P1's, but they are also like 60-years-old), but it sounds like it's the same way. Gotta fill in those slots somehow.

I listen to the Ticket sometimes, doesn't sound too different from the exact same sort of stuff they were doing 20 years ago.

good for popping in occasionally, I don't like any of the local teams anyway

What about the OP makes you think he was bothered by it?

He was pointing out that it's a very strange thing to spend time on for a SPORTS network. I mean, does that not seem odd to you?

I like Lebatard and Stugotz. I do turn it off when he starts on his social rants, but besides that, the show is pretty good.

Is that a winning topic with the network's core audience?

Well sounds like you listened to the whole thing, so yes.

I don't like the Ticket

I've never been a huge fan mostly b/c they diverge from sports so often.

I feel like The Fan tends to have some of the same issues as The Ticket though. As much as I like Ben and Skin for bball talk I turn the dial w/quickness when they start talking about what rappers they listen to when they were young or when they waste an entire segment on a dumb prank that seems to be more for their entertainment. The Fan doesn't seem to veer off course as much but when it does it's basically a wasted 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, ESPN 103.3 has fallen off hard w/all the talent they've lost the last few years. I can't even listen to Steve Dennis and his constant yelling. I'd much rather have Matt Mosley back in his spot b/c when SD is on i pretty much can't listen to the channel for the entire afternoon. I can somewhat handle it when him and Cowlishaw talk CFB but even then SD's hot takes and Ohio State love cause me the change the channel.

That said, I pretty much just flip back and forth between them all in the hopes they are talking about something I want to hear.

At least DFW has 3 stations. When I lived in Tyler we only had the one and a shitload of time was devoted to high school football.

Sports radio is a garbage heap of idiocy.

Always has been, always will be.
